Do you buy clothes online?

CAGiversary!
Do you buy clothes online? What if there is an online fitting room where you can try clothes on using the 3D models generated from your body measurements and recommend you the right size, will you buy or buy more clothes online?

I have to write a report for a class based on this survey that is due in a week :cold:. If you guys could help me to take the survey below, I will very much appreciate it :D. There are only 7 questions.

Online Clothing Shopping Survey Link (SurveyMonkey)

I am interested in this topic because I always find shopping for clothes in-store a painful process, especially as a woman. That is because women clothing sizes are not standardized. If I want to buy a pair of jeans, I will have to get size 2, 4, 6 for each style. If 3 different styles, then I will have to try 9 different pairs of jeans. I'd rather spend that time on CAG and buy more video games from Amazon :bomb:. Anyway, what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance. ^^

I try to, but there isn't SHIT for selection on websites. Not even for massive stores like Sears, Old Navy, etc. It's kinda like buying a used game from Gamestop online. Most of what they should have they don't, and what they do have is out of stock or only available in-store.

And if you piss away an hour and finally find a shirt you like, they want like $125 when you were looking to spend $14-30. Better to just go to a store.

I buy some clothes online, but I much prefer trying things on in-store- to see what the material feels like, and to see the fit in real-time... some styles run small, for example, becuase they're supposed to fit tighter. I typically buy these in bigger sizes becuase I prefer a looser fit. (Works the other way, too- I buy tunics and other loose clothing in smaller sizes so they're loose, but not baggy.)

As for the 3D model- who cares? Unless it's going to scan me to get my exact measurements, it's not going to get the exact body size. Not to mention it's just going to show a generalized 'what it'll look like', without taking into consideration my movments and how the fabric reacts. I'm the sort who tries something on and twists and stretches and touch my toes, just to be sure it's not going to gather oddly or pull anywhere. Computer models can't show me that.

I've just been shopping at Express's online store lately. They always have deals going and I they have great graphic Ts at good prices -- they are very fitting to which is hard to find.

i shop online because i know what sizes to choose for my brands and if theres something i dont have like NERF or LRG or some shit my lil brother has so i know what it runs. shopping in malls or stores where you live is wack cuz youll see people wearin the samething

I pick my selection online and then have my friend purchase them overseas and ship them to me. Asian brands fit asian people better. :/

I bought some Pumas that I saw were going for a good deal on Slickdeals. There was a decent style selection so I felt comfortable with the ones I picked out. Except with shoes you never know if that shit is going to fit so you just have to make your best guess online.

I am driving up to my house on the day of delivery and I see a shredded cardboard box strewn across my porch and a red puma box flung open. Low and behold both pairs of tennis shoes were neatly lain on the porch untouched by my poodle. fucker even pulled the Scott Pilgrim trade paperback from the Amazon wrapper without mangling it. For a second I was pissed. Now that I look back on it it ain't so bad.

Thanks for taking the survey and all the responses. That is very helpful for me =).

Interestingly, I find it easier to look for what I want online, because I can simply type and search for it instead of checking them store by store. I will do more research about this.
Took your quiz. I shop online all the time. :)
Thank you very much! ;)

I think it is possible to scan for measurements with the advancement in technology. Imagine if we can "scan" ourselves using a webcam or Kinect at different angles with a reference item, the rest are purely computer algorithm. Of course we don't know how well the current technology can do, especially if the models can show how the fabric reacts with movements.

Good to know, maybe I should check that out. :)

Sometimes I find the sizes of different clothes from a same store and brand can be slightly different, but that's probably insignificant depending on the type of clothes you buy.
The most clothing I would buy online is T-shirts.
Same here, I just buy cheap T-shirts and sweaters online.

How do you know what size fits you? Have you ever received any unfit clothes? :whistle2:k

Sorry to hear that.

The only clothes I EVER buy online are jeans and thats just because eddie bauer makes the most comfortable jeans Ive ever worn and they last me a very long time. I just buy them online because I can get them cheaper than in the store. My jeans are the only clothes I am picky about besides shoes.

Occasionally I might get a t shirt off ebay but thats about it. And when I do its like the green zelda tshirt with the old fashioned logo on it.

I hate buying clothes in general though and take care of mine so its rare I have to buy anything.

I have no problem buying coats, hoodies, accessories, shoes, sneakers online as I can find a wider selection, free shipping (usually) and great deals/discounts. I have bought many vintage, older clothing and footwear on ebay and internet forums that I couldn't buy at a store. However, I almost never buy a shirt or a pair of jeans online because I fear that it might not fit well. I would possibly shop online more often if I was able to virtually see how clothes fit on an accurate representation of my body. I took the quiz and I hoped this helped!

I shop almost exclusively online now so I went ahead and did the survey. It's rare for me to find anything worth buying locally these days that is either worth the price or actually suits my personality.

This is very interesting. Jeans are the last thing I'd think about buying online .
I hate buying clothes too. That's why I hope I can save some time by buying them online.

I bought shoes online too. Luckily, they all fit me well.

It's very rare to find someone who shops exclusively online. Your opinion is very valuable. Thanks. ;)

I buy clothes online sometimes. It's usually stuff that i've had the same brand and know the how sizes run. I'm kinda a tweener on sizes and i'm particular so random online clothes shopping never turns out well. I always get my shoes from reputable online stores though because it's alot cheaper and bigger selection than B&M, you just go there to to get sizes/fits. :D

I got a few pairs of shoes online before and they all fit well. I also bought T-shirts and sweaters. They were slightly bigger than I expected but I didn't care to return it because they only cost $10 each.

Some interesting findings from the survey,
70% of the responders buy clothes online, 40-70% will buy more if there is an online fitting room.

Very seldomly. Maybe a T-shirt every now and then. Just too hard to get things the right size since sizing can vary so much across brand.

Even T-shirts are hit and miss. The last two I ordered, one was a medium and ended up being more of a small and being a bit tight, so next time I ordered large, and it was fucking gigantic like an XXL.
