Do you ever re-purchase the same game because of the system?

I at one time started re-buying some of my PS2 games on the Cube because I liked the quicker load times. Now I'm finding myself wanting to replace some Cube games with XBOX games because I got a new HDTV and I love the way the 360 upscales the older stuff. Have you guys ever done something similar?

I acquired a copy of GH2 for 360 though I had the PS2 version already. It was well worth it to me, considering the improved graphics, achievements, upgraded song list and the use as a second guitar for Rock Band.
I can't think of any other situations where I might buy the same game for another system though.

I've been toying around with the idea of buying The Orange Box for a console even though I already have it on PC.

I used to a lot. Not so much anymore. The last one I remember was the second Prince of Persia game. I got it for both the Gamecube and PSP. I guess RE4 for both the GC and Wii would count too.

I never have, but am considering it with Bully. I got Bully for PS2 for $15 and only got a few missions in b4 they announced it was coming for the 360. I stopped playing it right then and there, but now I dont know if the "upgrades" are worth it, especially considering that the head-to-head mode is only local and not XBL.

But in any case, I know I wont even *think* about the 360 version till it's in the

made the mistake of buying RE4 for the PS2 AFTER I beat the cube version because I wanted to play the ada missions that was exclusive to the PS2 version...but then of course they release the PC version, so I bought that knowing it was going to be modded :)

Only Resident Evil 4, played and beat the cube version, spotted the premium at gamestop for 17 bucks and said screw it. I wanted to play the ada missions and see which one really looked better

Never... I have bought ports though if they have improvements or updated versions of games on different systems (RE4 Wii Edition or Ninja Gaiden Sigma).

I always bought GC versions of games when I could as it was the only system that didn't consistently give me any problems. I got 2 DREs with my launch GC in it's entire lifetime (both with one game: SoaL). I've been through 2 PS2 (fat ones) and the PStwo (slim one) has been working fine besides the controller 1 port.

It's the muddy textures and the muffled sound which really drove me nuts. After seeing a boat load of side by side pictures and videos of RE4 for the cube and PS2, I concluded that it should have never been released for the PS2. The PC version is far superior, with the exception of the stripped lighting and shadow effects, which modders are trying extremely hard to put back into the game.

I did it for SCII, and I *may* consider doing it for UTIII (if the online on 360 is really popular and problem free, I'll ditch my PS3 version).

I had to re-buy Max Payne . I bought it for the xbox, but my optical drive died before i got a chance to play it... so I bought the PS2 version instead (which is a terrible port). I'm really wishing i would have just bought the PC version, but I'd hate to buy the same game 3 times. As soon as I finish it, I'm putting the PS2 version in the "never to return" stack. I'll probably end up getting Max Payne 2 for the PC.

I own Max Payne 3 times myself.
- GBA
- XBOX
- PC

Street Fighter 2 I also own multiple times! XBox Arcade, Portable SSF2:REVIVAL and elsewhere.

House of the Dead is going to be my next title, however I'm selling my XBox version with gun to fund for the Wii version.

Castlevania: SOTN will be another version once I plunge on the XBL version.

Shaq-Fu on the genesis and gameboy classic ;)

The only retail games I've done this for are GHII and RE4, plus the occasional XBLA and VC title. Definitely getting the Okami port next month.

I've bought a couple of games I already owned on other systems for the 360. For the obvious reasons... cheesemints, better visuals as well as audio, etc.
