CAGiversary!
I just wanted to know because I was thinking about using the site for importing ds games and buying the ds web browser.

i wouldn't recommend them. i bought some ddr games off them awhile back and wow...3 months later, i called them to see what was going on. turns out that they messed up somehow and had to send the order back to japan. of course, they put me on hold for hours and i ended up having to pay tons of long distance bills. didn't get my games for over half a year.

They're legit because they have a business in Hawaii, but you're better off using play-asia for imports.

They are horrible. They charge you when you place the order, their inventory is not up to date (I ordered 3 items, got my credit card statement and was billed for all 3 items and only got 2 items, 3rd was on backorder) and as mentioned their customer service is horrible. Unless the item you are looking for isn't available anywhere else (the items I wanted weren't availabe anywhere else at the time, not even on EBay so I had no choice), I wouldn't order from them

I ordered my naruto 2 game for cube back in the day from there

took forever to come, dont bother with them stick to play-asia

Every time I've tried to order from them, my orders would be pending for months at a time. One was over six months, because they assured me that they would still get the product, it was delayed on their end. Even on a limited edition figurine that everyone else sold out of a year ago. I doubt they ever even had it.

THe site is horrible and Alex Le takes forever to respond to any complaints or inquiries for a refund.

They're almost like today's buyritegames.com. Stay far away.

I agree with the above posters... Toys n Joys has some shady business practices.

A few years ago, my boyfriend ordered two Beatmania IIDX controllers for us for Christmas. They arrived about a month later.

Neither controller came with a retail box or anything... they were just loose. One of them had buttons that stuck. :bomb:

So we engage their customer support, which was somewhat helpful... explain that we were disappointed with our purchase, and that we'd like a replacement for the stickykeys controller. We sent it back and received a new-in-box one about another month later. Mysterious.

I wouldn't recommend shopping from them. Play-asia is much, much better.

Agreed. I live here and I've visited their B&M store regularly in the past with no problems (not so much now since it's not close to where I live and there are lots more options for games now)--your typical mom and pop shop with lots of cool import items. They were doing the used game business way before GS/Software Etc came here and they outlasted a number of other businesses that tried to capture the same market.

Their online business though is a shambles. I don't know why they even bother.

i bought the neo fami from them a while back when it first came out and it arrived later that week. They are in hawaii, so pick priority ship unless you want to wait forever.
