Do you watch anime?

i've never really been into anime........but then i saw the cowboy bebop movie and i was hooked........i'm currently watching the whole cowboy bebop series (i'm a little over half way through).........can anyone recommend what i should watch next......seeing as i've only seen cowboy bebop and know nothing else about anime

Record of Lodoss War if you like Fantasy at all. I wasn't hooked on the continuous-storyline animes until that one. I was pretty much into serials at that point, like Ranma 1/2 and Cowboy Bebop.

Berserk is also excellent.
Legolas813, I would suggest Neon Genesis Evangelion. Theres not alot of episodes and its freaking awesome.
It might be a little to heady for someone coming off Cowboy Bebop. It verges on nonsensical towards the end, and don't even get me started on the End of Evangelion redo. Yikes. It takes two times through the series before it stops giving you a migraine, but if you have the luck to fully understand it the first time through, it's great. The Evas are really cool to watch, too.

I used to be a total anime freak, but now I've cooled down. I'll watch it if it's on, but I don't exactly watch the clock waiting for them to come on.

I particularly enjoyed Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop.

You didn't like the End of Evangelion redo? I thought it was much better than the last 2 episodes, which confused the shit out of me. End of Evangelion was great though.
Sure, it made more sense then the original two episodes, but that certainly doesn't mean it made sense...

Here's some recent purchases on my shelf that I need to make my way through:

Cardcaptor Sakura complete series [NOT bootleg]
Sailor Moon S1 and S2
Sakura Diaries Collectors Edition [I bought and watched the non-CE not too long before the CE came out, then traded the non for the CE, but haven't been in the mood to watch it again yet]
Excel Saga IMPerfect Collection [had disks 1-3, then traded them in and got the Imperfect Collection when BB had 20% off]

and recently watched via netflix:
Cowboy Bebop
Evangelion
Millenium Actress
Cat Soup [would have been better if someone were under the influence]

Probably a lot more, but those are off the top of my head, and I've been gaming a lot more than watching DVd's recently.

It's one of the few things I still watch.

In fact, it's just about the only thing I watch.
Second'd.

My favorites are probably Naruto, Wolf's rain, Inuyasha, and Pretear, don't feel like listing all the ones I've watched

And my favorite anime movie is Princess Mononoke.
Third'd

I watch a ton of anime as will be listed.

So many good ones, too hard to pick one, so here's a good majority of them.

Rurouni Kenshin
Yu Yu hakusho
DBZ
DBGT (you may think it's stupid, but I enjoy watching the action.)
Dragonball
Cowboy Bebop
Big-O
Inuyasha
kiddy grade
vampire hunter d
Helsing
Gundam Wing (the others, other than G and seed gundam are not that good).
Blue Gender
Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Blood The Last Vampire
Grave of the Fireflies
Princess Mononoke
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust
Ninja Scroll
Animatrix
I'm starting to get a little into Witch Hunter Robin
Neon Genesis Evangelion is amazing
Full Metal Panic
Ranma 1/2

is trigun any good?!?......i've asked in different forums before what people should watch next if they've only seen cowboy bebop, and a lot of people reply with trigun, noir, or FLCL
those of you who have seen a lot of animes, do you think the reviews at www.animeacademy.com are accurate?!?......i've been going there recently to read up on potential animes to watch next
animenfo.com is your best bet.

Noir actually is very much like Cowboy Bebop, but with more female characters, the styles are quite similar. Trigun is slightly more campy than Bebop but you'd be able to make a fairly easy transition.

I dunno who suggested FLCL, but I wouldn't recommend it at all if the only anime you've watched is Bebop. That doesn't mean it's a bad series exactly, just not nearly as mainstream as Bebop is and is really in a different style. Personally, I'm not a huge FLCL fan myself, yet I do recommend you watch it at some point when you really get into anime (if you choose to do so) because to the show's credit it's both unique and well done.
i shaq-fuing hate anime
Thumbs up for that great post.

My favorite anime is and has been for a long time Evangelion.

Some other favorites are Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, .hack//sign, FLCL and (so far) Samurai Champloo.

I am really into manga though, so most of the series that come out i can't like because they are based on manga and do such a bad job i can't even watch it (like naruto, GREAT manga, horrible anime, same with inuyasha).

I like anime too, and have seen too many series to list them all.

I don't watch anime as much as I used to because I can't find a good video store in town to rent them from anymore. When I lived in California my local video store had a huge anime section, and even had some trauma inducing hentai in their porn section. Since I moved to Nevada the only "anime" I can find at my local video store is Pokemon or Hamtaro *barfs*. Anime is too expensive for me to buy...plus there is nothing worse than paying alot of money for an anime DVD only to go home, watch it, and totally hate the series. I never buy anime anymore unless I get to watch it first.

Now I'm stuck watching anime on TechTV and Cartoon Network. TechTV anime is some of the worse...horrible stuff, and so poorly dubbed that half of it doesn't make any damn sense whatsover, I call it "incomprehensible anime". Adult Swim isn't that bad, it just takes them forever to get new episodes of anything, so they end up playing the same stuff over and over again.

I've watched all of...

FLCL (Dub), Cowboy Bebop (Dub & Sub), Trigun (Dub & Sub), Dragon Ball Z (Dub), Gundam Wing (Dub), Gundam 08th MS (Dub), Petshop of Horror (Sub), Evangelion (Sub).

Some of... well a lot, DVDs are too pricey, and downloads are too obnoxious.

edit - forgot one series.
Fx dvd's rule!
Agree. I got Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, GTO, and some of Inuyasha really cheap that way. I got almost all of Yu Yu Hakusho from Best Buy though. Just 7 DVDs left till the end.

My fav series are Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue gender, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, GTO, Inu Yasha, Chobits, Evangelion, and Detective Conan.
