DOA 5 39.99$ amazon

this is a good game. I paid $50 for it and don't regret it. Online can be a little hit and miss with the matchmaking, but is generally lag free (in my experience). If you have local vs. opportunities then it is a no-brainer.

Is the gameplay of DOA5 as counter-heavy as previous installments?
You posted to advertise a deal AND ask a question. Well played.
sorry about that i know its weird XD, i posted the deal to pass the news, its just that am insecure about buying it because of the Christmas season, since there is no news about what prices will go down.

i apologize again for the weird post XP

PD. i just checked, amazon seems to be doing a price match to gamestop price

I really wished I snagged this for $30 during BF...I can't seem to pull the trigger for $40.

My only knowledge of previous installments is DoA Dimensions, and it appears less counter heavy than that. In Dimensions there were basically three counters back+H, down-back+H, and up-back+H, which countered your opponent's mid, low, and high strikes respectively. Now there is an additional counter that can be executed by pressing forward+h which counters mid kicks only (and back + h no longer counters mid kicks). Basically, you can't get as many counters by spamming back+h since that won't work on kicks anymore. long combos of the same strikes can still be easily countered (e.g. PPPPP is pretty easy to counter by spamming back+h) so the importance is on mixups, juggles and combos with strong strikes that put your opponent into a critical stun where they can't execute holds.

I hope that answers your question!

The window to counter has been shrunk, so no, it's not broken like DOA4. Obviously still a game that plays around predictions, but it's not just two characters spam grabbing the air all round.

Good. That is the one thing I had a problem with in DOA4, how difficult it was to get into since I had to learn all the counters and other players were already pulling them off successively. I did master it eventually, though, but it's been years. I'm not sure which system I am going to get it for, Vita or PS3, but I'm definitely going to wait for a lower price. I tend to get overexcited about fighters and then end up with no one to play them with and less money in my wallet as a result. :hot:
a vita port with "plus" its comming so nahh the price will get lower
Just hope it's not limited to 30fps like their ninja gaiden sigma plus port.
