I tend to agree with the "midnight belongs to Tuesday night" thinking. If someone tells you "The show starts at midnight on the 9th", would you be there the night of the 8th? I know I wouldn't. I take it as being the night of the 9th, not the morning of the 9th.

EDIT: She DID say "(tonight)", she could have been a little clearer ... like say midnight 8th/9th or midnight 9th/10th. Whatever
 
I would've stayed up if I didn't have homework and all those tests today..
 
I never use Midnight for anything for that reason. Always use 12:01 AM It is much clearer for everyone.

Who got the emails? I get Buy.com emails all the time on 3 different accounts and didn't get this.

Yeah, it does seem like they would be losing money on this or maybe just breaking even. But it could be a marketing ploy.

They may have worked out a deal with EA to be able to do a deal like this. Either that, or it is to try to draw in new customers. And I wouldn't say the sale is a hoax quite yet. Hopefully Cheapy will get some info back from them soon.
 
So quick to declare it a hoax, based on some confusion about what day midnight belongs to. Lazy fockers not saying 12:01AM, March 10. If buy.com was more than just a domain name, and I could beat the hell out of it's personified form, I would.

I was staying positve last night,

Positve that I would get some EA games half off. Maybe it was a misprint and they only caught it after emails went out since the part about the free shipping is true and that did change on the website.

There's nothing wrong with staying up for a deal that should've appeared. Yes, it's sad, but I had nothing else to do yesterday. I believed that Buy.com would have the sale up at midnight, so I waited. And waited. And waited. Etc, etc.

I've shopped at Buy.com before with success, so I thought they'd come through this time as well.

(I'm not about to stay up again tonight, though.)
