I'll probably end up changing my address and billing information to some fake stuff, since they saw fit to notify us of a fake deal...

I wonder if this is the sort of thing you can file away at the BBB? Especially if it was a ploy to increase the # of hits and registered users, since that would be defrauding the public, no?
 
I just got an e-mail from KB-Toys.com. it says "Free Standard Shipping on the Hottest New EA Games!!"

I wonder what they'll think when i send them and "F-U" e-mail? :p

yea i couldnt delete my account so i wrote them in an email to delete for me...instead for now i removed my credit card and change my info so they wont have my home address or phone number...also changed my name to Jack MeOff so i hope they give this out and look like idiots...i bet they did this just to get more accounts like somone else above said...buy.com is the worst company ever those liars!!!!!!!
 
I think some people here are just too goddam obsessive about saving a few lousy bucks on some crappy EA games. I mean, think about it, you guys are losing sleep over the new Bond game which will prolly be $25 bucks or less used somewhere along the line anyway.
 
Well grizzly has returned to his home, and he is very unhappy. I don't have time to read this whole thread from where I last left off, so Ill assume they deal just never went through and buy.com lied about it even existing. Meh, what can you do?

I also find it funny that a DOA topic is has one of the highest post counts.

This really sucks. I stayed up all night for a deal that never came. I just came back from school right now and I was hoping to see something. When I was at school, I went to the school library and used their computers around 9.
Cheapy, can you please do all of us a favor and get Buy.com to give us some kind of similar deal. One more thing please. Ask them why they couldn't do the deal?

I think hes just bs'in everybody about EBgames. Not that it matters, just spent all my money on Chappelle DVD, Metal Arms for XBox, Spaceballs, Ghostbusters and 2 Halo figure box sets. Had to make up for my sadness somehow =/
 
I think I'll just leave my account the way it is. When it asked for my credit card I just clicked on 'pay by check' so no real info was left on there.
 
Uh, well, I already had an account. Long ago. Not that it really matters to me, anyhow.

This is a definite disappointment to us all, but hopefully CheapyD will come up with something. I'll at least know never to get so hyped up over a deal that I thought was too good to be true, anyway. I shouldn't have stayed up, either. :(
 
i actually wasnt bsing you about the 2 for 1 at ebgames.com there are already 2 threads about it in here(yeha I know I know)

well anytime a site asks for my phone number or a super market or whatever, I just write down 1234567890 as my phone number. if they want to send me spam to my address, blew, they can go ahead. everyone gets junkmail, a little more wont kill me.
 
I'm not going to read the last 5 pages of bitch and moan. What does Cheapy's edited post mean--they had to "take down" the deal??? It wasn't ever there was it?

its pretty f'd up that they email u stating a deal and then a pretty crappy deal not even close to the original one comes out.
 
Buy.com should be ashamed of themsevles. A few years ago I decided I would never order from them again after I had an item on backorder, cancelled it and they shipped it anyway (when I tried to cancel it, it magically came back in stock :x ) Or the time I ordered Samba De Amigo Maracas, they were on backorder for 4 months and they said they would ship them when they get back in stock even though I found out they were discontinued.

I thought I would give them 1 more chance and order from them again with this deal. Unless they have some amazing deal like a new release game for $5, I will never place an order with them again.

They decided to cancel the deal and just put free shipping on all EA titles.

It did get a little funny though around 3 in the morning...you guys gotta admit! Alot of us started buggin out and sayin' weird stuff out of sheer lack of sleep!

That is a negative Dane. Unless you consider Free Shipping on all EA games a deal, in which case you may want to rethink your life.
