Does anyone else think Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan is the best 8 bit mario?

i LOVE this game, the levels are longer, the level design is much more creative than mario 1, and the difficulty makes me swear more than any game ever has.

anyone else feel its the best of the bunch? (not saying 1 or 3 are bad AT ALL!)

SMB2 is my favorite as well, it seems that most people really either love it or hate it, and i happen to love it.

smb2j is just easier and more universial.

i started playing through this again yesterday (ive only gone through it once on snes and once on gb, and damn, 4-4 is effin hard!

but it was hilarious when my roomate was playing and he was on 3-1 i think and had to warp back to world 1, the look on his face was classic!

I was wondering because SMB2 in japan was called something completely dif...The one realesed in the US was just a copy of another japanese game to which i thought you were refering

lost levels is probably the best game if ever played. adn 4-4 used to drive me insane, c-4 too.

Doki Doki Panic was the game ported to the US to be the US version of Super Mario Bros. 2(US)... we got it later on the SNES as part of Super Mario All Stars dubbed as Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

SMB2 jpn was ok, I was able to beat it twice (the one on Mario Allstars and SMB Deluxe) but I found it more frustating than anything.

I personally think SMB3 was the best, but Lost Levels is still pretty good. It used to be very challenging for me, but now I'm too good at it. At one point in my childhood, Super Mario World, Street Fighter II and Super Mario All-Stars were the only video games I had, so I would play them over and over.
