hi at compusa they have these for 49.99 and I was wondering if I should invest in this or the more expensive 99.99 ones made by xbox and other companies, I already have a wireless network at home, what do you think?

I have one and it works just fine with my box. However mine cost me if I'm not mistaken $19.99 after $10 rebate from CC

Great Deal!
There are 2 models of this unit . . . just came out in a new one . . . if you can get the older one you can get a deal.
This is cool because it will work with both the PS2 and Xbox.
This is all you really need for XBox......... besides your cable/dsl connection will never go beyond 1.5mbp unless you have business type high speed........ which if you're playing out of your home, I doubt you do............... I got mine for $35 way back when and it works fine
I have the b adapter and think it works well. Maybe once or twice a month I need to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again because it loses its connection for some reason. That is not bad because my router and DSL modem do the same thing and need unplugged once in a while. Occasionally there is a bit of lag but I believe that to be because of the signal having to travel down three floors. That being said most people I have talked to have agreed that regular 802.11b reaches farther than 802.11g. So while you may get a faster connection with g, if your signal has a long way to go that speed will decrease over distance anyway.
