Does Brain Age make anyone else 'blue'?

Ah, puns.

Brain Age won't recognize when my gf says 'blue'. (The Stroop test I think it's called where you have to say the color of the word.) For me it works with not much problem. I think it's fouled up on blue a time or two the first few times I played that one, but not since. However after she has it screw up on blue I sometimes will take it and give it a try and on those occasions it won't recognize my blue either. I'm guessing it has some sort of AI to refine itself based on the answers already given or what?

Very strange because (as mentioned) it will recognize my saying blue if I start and play through the test myself from the beginning.

Anyone else have problems with that?

Apparently you really have to emphasize on it-- BLOO. ..granite BLUE and BLACK do not sound alike.. but the system might hear you say it so fast and only pick up "BL".. but who knows..I have trouble every now and then.. especially when it starts to pick up and I'm trying to go really quick!

On my lite it seems that it can't pick up my "blue"...
but for some reason on my DS big it can pick up blue no matter how i pronounce it.

Ya... I just got Brain Age about 20 minutes ago and my first fustration came with saying "BLUE" "BLOOOOO" "BLEW" "BLAUE" a million times into it.

I've decided to basically quit trying to talk to it.

im having the same problem.. I had success if I said it fast like "blu"
when I I try to say it longer and slower it wont recognize it

If given the choice, just say "I can't speak". It won't ask you to do the stroop test or the counting to 120 test (both suck anyway).

One thing I did notice when I took it from my girlfriend is that if I started to make nonsense noises like 'Mlabulikib' it would pretty much register a hit for any color. (I was making nonsense noises in an attempt to just have it kick me out to the 'Sorry, the DS seems to be having trouble picking up your guesses.' screen.) I had to just make one specific and short nonsense sound to get it to consistently deny me (like 'Gak').

Try talking off to the side of the DS, I find I have better luck with this rather than speaking directly into it.

I never had problems with the Blue in Brain Age. I can say blue however many ways like blue, bloo, bo-looo, bue, and it'll pick it up right away. Although my friends do have a problem with blue, no matter how he says it, the DS (lite) never picked it up. So he could never finish the stroop test.

Hold the mic about a foot away from your mouth (like the doctor says), works like a charm for me.

I don't know if there's a surefire way to get it to recognize it, but definitely try holding it further away if it never works for you. That seems to help a lot in my case.

I've never had a problem with it recognizing me saying blue. But one of my friends tried it last night and it refused to work for her. It's kinda strange. I wonder why they didn't just use a different color, if you're going to use 4 colors, why pick 2 that start with bl?

sometimes, "blue" doesn't work, but "burue" fixes that

I thought you meant sad so my answer was going to be yes but as far as the voice recognition goes, I had problems at first but saying it fast and not raising your voice and holding the DS about a foot away does the trick.

Well, I spoke too quickly. I played it yesterday afternoon and for the first time it had problems recognizing me saying blue. Oh well.
