No this isn't a pirate software question... :)

I put my copy of Freelancer up on Goozex. I only have the CD here with me so I selected "disk only" as the option. Well it got matched today with another user, and before I accepted the trade I wanted to make sure I had everything you need to play the game.

There is a "CD Set" number on the back of the sleeve the CD came in, which might be the CD key. However, I popped the disk into my drive and actually was able to install and start the single player campaign not having to type any cd key in. Is this correct?

Goozex allows you to trade PC games? Weird, just about everyone else got out of that business because of the legal hassles with the whole "licensed, not sold" crap software publishers pull.

Yeah they allow trade of PC games. I guess they run a lot on the honor system where they want you to send the key along and not use it yourself anymore but there is always the threat of neg. feedback if you don't- plus the buyer would prob. get a refund.

They don't allow trading of MMORPGs, etc due to terms in the EULA.

I think that this is correct. My copy is just in a printed cardboard sleeve w/no key.

I wish that Goozex would add another category of game "condition" that was something like "jewel case version" or something like that where the game is in "complete" condition, but the manual is on disc. I feel like I'm being deceptive if I list a jewel case version w/manual on CD as "full game and manual."

The bigger the company, the less time they're going to spend on what they consider petty little details like accurate descriptions. At least that's been my experience.

That's an interesting situation. A good one to put up to the goozex forums maybe and see what they say. I gues one way around it is to list it as game + manual, then PM whoever you get matched to before you accept the trade and make sure that he understands that a manual never came with the game.

I know I got "screwed over" once when I sent out my complete copy of Empire At War, which consisted of the disks, a manual, all packed in a double-thick DVD-style case. The buyer recieved it and stated that I had forgot to send the outer box with the game, when in reality there was none. I brought it up to Goozex and they gave me the max +10 feedback score (the user originally only left the +5 positive feedback) but his comment is still there, leading others to believe I stiffed him on the box. Oh well whatever guess it could have been worse.
