Does GS check if tradein PS2 works?

Sulmona

CAGiversary!
Hey all, does gamestop check if a tradein ps2 works, as some people might know, I feel that gamestop owes me $70 in outstanding credit, and by trading in this DRE PS2 as working, I can recoup most of that since it does not seem like I will get it otherwise. Does anyone know if they physically set it up and check?
Yes, they check.

Very thorougly.
damn I was hoping they would check it later, my GS doesnt have a TV readily available to check, do they take it into the back? If they didnt check right away and called me back later, I would tell them to fuck off and consider us even.

so you feel like youve been cheated by gamestop for some reason, so the best way to get your money is to cheat them back?? come on now...

i would be interested in knowing how u feel they owe u $70, but at the same time im kinda disgusted that you feel this compelling need to cheat them...

I have no problems seeking revenge to get my money back, as long as I get my $70, and I am not shoplifting it really doesnt matter to me how.

Buy a preowned PS2 from GS, then return it (and by 'it', I mean your DRE PS2) the folowing day. You'll get your money back, and then you can trade in your working PS2. :D

When I was at a GS earlier, some guy traded in a xbox and the employee didnt check it or anything... maybe it depends whose doing it?

Nice try. They DO check the serial numbers, you know.

You know they track systems by serial numbers...right?

And you can't return systems for the money back.

Switch the serial numbers, then. They're just little stickers. ;)

And even if you don't get your money back, you'll have a working PS2.

EDIT:

Actually, you'll have 2 working PS2s. Trade them both in for $140 credit.

Wow. It's pretty easy to spot one that has been switched/tampered with, people try this a lot.

Advice on how to cheat a store isn't really kosher for discussion on CAG. Surprised this one hasn't been locked up yet.

Just sell it for parts on eBay.
