I got this charger about 6 years ago, but I never really used it. I found the charger in my closet recently with no batteries. So I was thinking of buying some NiMH AA Batteries for it.

I found some Sony Batteries that seem to have good reviews and good price.

I want to know if this would work with my charger.

Also, if there are any other deals for batteries or batteries/chargers that have good reviews, are reliable, and cheap, please post them here. :D

NIMH batteries should work on any NIMH charger.

Here's what I ended up buying after doing a good amount of looking around, reading reviews etc:

Definitely get a smart charger. And about the eneloop batteries, they supposedly self-discharge at a much slower rate, have heard generally good things about them.

Here's an article comparing batteries:

What are the advantages of a smart charger other than not overcharging?
I'm thinking of buying those eneloop batteries you posted. Its either two packs of the Sony or one pack of the eneloop (both will total 8 batteries). I'm thinking I should get a smart charger as well. Any preferences?

Electricity is electricity. Yes they are all compatible with each other. and as far as a smart charger goes, it basically shuts down the current when the battery hits full or close to full charge.

The short answer is that any charger works with any chargeable battery, period.

yes, sometimes destructively so.

[quote name='ranmasama']Destructively? Do mean you like power outages or just dead batteries?

So should I get a new charger? How would I know which is compatible with which?

EDIT: I'm probably gonna just go with this Eneloop Charger with 4 batteries to be safe. I'll probably buy a four pk with it to get free saver shipping

sorry, i wasn't trying to spook you. i was specifically referring to the other poster who generalised that all batteries work in all chargers, which may be true to a point, but combining battery types (NiMH, Li-Ion, and NiCd) with inappropriate chargers is a bad idea. however, within the NiMH world, it is pretty safe to say any NiMH battery will charge safely in any NiMH charger.

that said, those eneloop batteries are great, and have signifcant advantages over tradition NiMH cells. they're a very good choice, and a decent value, as well.

I just bought the charger with the 4 batteries and another 4 pack. Just in case the charger wouldn't work. Now, my old charger will be used as a backup in.
