Dollhouse: Season One - $17.99 DVD and $25.49 Blu-ray

Definitely worth it.

Just know that you need to persevere through the relatively awful first five episodes (when Fox was tinkering extensively) to get to the good stuff. But once it picks up (and it's even better this season), Dollhouse becomes one hell of a great show. Season 2 has been one of the best TV seasons I can remember, but you need to watch season 1 for season 2 to work in this show - so it's probably worth it just for that.

I netflixed the Epitaph One/Unaired Pilot disc and I remember the quality being decent (better than, say, Chuck's Blu) but not as strong as Lost.

Seems worth it but I'm wondering if Fox will come out with the 'complete series' next year with the release of the second season.
didn't this show get canceled already??
Yes, it did. But from what I read online, Joss is giving the series closure, so it won't end on a cliffhanger.

I agree it's worth it...the early episodes did make me wonder if Joss had lost his mojo but by the end of the first season I wondered why I worried. Whedon is a master storyteller and the concept behind the show and the moral questions it presents are compelling. Add the stellar cast/performances and it's making me very sad the show is ending in only one more week. Highly recommended for Whedon fans of his previous work, just remember to cut it some slack early on. These sets also feature the un-aired Epitath One episode which sort of gave us an early finale (I suppose in case the show was unceremoniously cancelled with no chance or money to shoot a proper finale). Now that the show is being given the chance to wrap up (albeit too soon for most tastes), Epitath Two will air next Friday so it will be interesting to see how that episode compliments or maybe even changes what was done in the first.

dead

If they make a complete series set I might pick it up eventually, but considering Season 1 is only 13 episodes and half of those episodes range from mediocre to terrible, I'm in no hurry. Was finally beginning to get behind Season 2 until the twist which after that last terrible episode I'm still not convinced makes any sense. Hopefully they knock it out of the park with Epitaph Two like they did with Epitaph One to cleanse the palette.
