Starting tomorrow, 9/4/05, RadioShack will be able to take, at it's 5200 company owned locations, donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund. All you have to do is walk in with Cash, Check, or Credit Card, and give the money. RadioShack will provide a reciept for tax purposes. Any donation over $250 will have to have a name and address attached to it, per federal guidelines.

There are no transaction fees or fund management charges, 100% of your money goes to the Red Cross for 2005 Hurricane Relief.

If the associate doesn't seem to know how to do the transasction, tell him to check the Memo. Don't let anyone prevent you from donating.

RadioShack is also donating food, clothes and stipends for housing to displaced employees; batteries, flashlights and power inverters to police; power generators to relief workers, telephones to hospitals; and cash. A corporate donation of $100,000 and matching contributions dollar for dollar of it's 30,000 employees.

Please give what you can. Even if that's only $5. The smallest donation helps, and there should be a RadioShack within five minutes of where you live or work.

You title kinda says it all. So no need to say anything. I know you mean well however most people have probably already donated to one of hundreds charities or places locally accepting donations.

plus most people don't want to be bugged to death to buy a cell phone when just making a donation. j/k
