Blue. I've never seen any either, but then again, I never really looked closely. So today I did and took 2 off the rack which had a dozen or so.

Thanks for the tip. I picked up Dk2 for $14.99. I just asked the cashier if I could buy a gift card and apply the $5 coupon and she said no problem except we have to do 2 transactions. So itwas painless. The prices weren't marked down on the shelves either.

Anyway thanks for the cheapassgaming buy!!!!
Are there any changes between DK1 and DK2 other than the music? Thanks!

I'll go to Best Buy later today. I hope I can get DK2 with Bongos for $15.
There is a handful of changes and improvements to DK2. On a purely aesthetic level, the backgrounds now have motion. A small improvement, sure, but one I like a lot. There are also new game modes: a randomizer that switches up the beats so the song is different every time you play and another mode that I'm totally blanking on right now.

The arcade section is a little different, it's pay-per-play this time. There is a metronome-like game where you have to keep specific tempos while playing increasingly complex combos, a speed game where you race to clear a certain number of notes (I love this one), and I think there might be one more game, I forget. You earn tokens playing the games which you can use to play a memory game for player avatars. There is also a big DK store where you can buy all new sounds. If you have DK1, the sounds you purchased in that game are available from the start in DK2.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific on the modes and bonus games. I borrowed the game to my sister a couple months ago and haven't seen it since. Twenty bucks is a great deal for these games, IMHO.

Yeah, they just came out recently, they expire June of 2007.

I just came back from Best Buy with Donkey Konga 2! Total price was $15 something. It took a while for the discount because the store was having problems.

Thanks for the DK2 details Lew Zealand. I hope its good. I'm gonna play DK1 first.

I wish I had a gf to play DK1 or 2 with. That would be so fun!

Ah, the ol' Geek Catch:22...

If you had a girlfriend, you'd enjoy slapping bongos with her, but you can't get a girlfriend because you'd want to slap bongos with her.

my problem is that games such as Donkey Konga are the only games my gf will play with me...though she did play some Madden with me the other day and learned a lot about football from it...so i guess i cant complain too much

If thats the problem, go get Mario games. My fiancee loves Mario Golf and Mario Superstar Baseball. But I am also hoping to get a couple of bongos so she'll play that too.

Snagged DK2 (along with the last Taiko Drum Master @ $19.99 BGC) for $19.99 BGC at the BB in Addison, IL - and the last DK1/Bongos from the BB in Bloomingdale, IL for $29.99 BGC.

My gf loves it when I play with her bongos.
My boyfriend loves it when I play with his balls.
Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, it really got out of hand fast!.
