Heys guys

I'm kind of conflicted on which monitor I should purchase. The Acer is a 23in; while the Samsung is a 21.5in. The size difference isn't really a concern for me, I'm more concerned about picture quality actually. The Acer also comes with an hdmi port + cable (Which I might use), while the Samsung only comes with a dvi-port. I'm assuming that the Samsung will have the better PQ, while the Acer will ultimately have the better value.

Here is a link to each monitor.
Acer

Samsung

Thanks guys really appreciate it.

The new Dell 22" is very highly reviewed. I believe CNET loved it. Just came out at $240, I think.

No, sorry, i was mistaken on which one it was. This is the one CNET called the best 22" they've used back in January: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-6107

People will probably come in and suggest a bunch of 24" monitors, but if you want my opinion, I prefer and recommend 22" for gaming for the sake of longevity. Their native resolution is typically 1680x1050, which games look great at, and it will ensure your graphics card is able to keep up as newer games come out. Running at 1680x1050 is less demanding on mid to low end cards than 1920x1200, which is the typical native resolution for 24" and larger.

Sokkatez, the monitor I think you are referring to is actually $300 on Dell's website. I think its an IPS so thats why its a little more expensive. That Asus is pretty good as well. What I might do though is take a look at best buy and mess around with what I see there; maybe I'll get an idea of what I'm looking for.

Thanks guys

don't get any Acer LCD monitors. they have a defect in their DVI connection that causes problems sending signal from the PC to the monitor. I'm struggling with this issue myself on my 21.6" Acer LCD. I recommend going for this Samsung 22" on Newegg. $190, heigh adjustable, pivot capabilities, and USB ports on the monitor.
