Doom 3 Vs Resident evil 4

I have them, and I have enjoyed RE4 immensely more than I have enjoyed RE4...not saying Doom 3 is a bad game, because I really enjoy it, but RE4 is much much better IMO.

Go for RE4, and get it soon, you will not regret it.

So Resident Evil for is better. I was also thinking that. I played it at frys and it was cool. Thanks
What do you mean? Please explain.
Well it seems strange to pick between two games that aren't at least the same. If you said what should I get Madden 2005 or NFL 2k5, I could understand. They are two different genres, pick the game from the genre you enjoy more.

Well, could I ask which has a better story and atmosphere. I love the story and atmosphere of a game. Like Zelda, it takes place in the wild with great forests and has a great story imo.

Resident Evil 4 is definately the better game. Technology wise, Doom 3 is better though. But like the one guy said, really 2 diff games.

I haven't had a chance to play Resident Evil 4 yet. I do know, however, that Doom 3 scared me to death. I refused to play it at night. :)

i would say DOOM 3 is a lot scarier than RE4, but RE4 isn't a run and gun type of game.

I haven't finished Doom 3 yet but both games have good atmosphere and a decent story. As mentioned they are not exactly similar games to if you want a survival horror/3d action game get RE 4, if you like FPS games more then get Doom 3. Or the best option is both seeing as how they are both very solid titles.

well... as similarty goes they are both horror games.. but one is 3rd person and the other first.

I felt doom 3 was graphically amazing, but the game got reptitative after awhile.. just walking around and zombies popping out of the dark. The atmosphere is well done, and lighting is great. Still just a good game though.. but imo I wouldn't consider it "great"

Resident evil 4 however,,, I thourghly enjoyed. One of the best games graphically on a console system (including all three major consoles) Style is unique and the atmosphere is wonderful. Not as scary as doom 3.. but it has it moments. Also variety of things you can do in the game keep it fresh, along with the levels and enemies.

Its all a matter of opinion, but RE4 sucked me in the game and I couldn't stop playing. One of the best console games I have played in a while.

The easiest way to get either is to say to yourself, do you like first person shooters, or do you like 3rd person shooter/adventure-horror. No one can answer if your going to like one game over the other, only you can answer that question. I love Doom 3 and Resident Evil 4, but which did I enjoy more? I'd say Resident Evil 4, Doom 3 got stale about 6 hours in and the only thing that made me finish it was just to get to hell, Resident Evil 4 never really got boring and I've beaten it at least 4 times since I've got it. If your getting Doom 3 for the XBOX just rent it, and rent Resident Evil 4 and buy which ever you like better (if you want the PC Doom 3, play the demo or just get it for xbox if you have the console, there pretty much the same exact game).

RE4, by a mile. Doom 3 was alright, but it just seemed to drag on toward the end there. And, by the way, the game is totally not scary. Same with RE4, but the gameplay blows doom away.

Seriously Doom 3 dragged on so badly at the end. I just started cheating like there was no tomorrow... RE4 wasn't scary, but it did drive u to the edge of ur seat every time they PWND u with the giant mobs of enemies.

Buy re4

I have them both, and like it has been said before RE4 is a much better game. But it's not fare to compare these 2 games, one of them if an fps that's scary (Doom 3), while RE4 is a fps hybrid that's awsome to play but it's not that scary. With all that said both games are great I just enjoyed RE4 more. The only appeal Doom 3 offers is Co-op play.

Another vote for RE4.

And I have to agree about Doom 3 dragging on at the end. I finished up on god mode just to get it over with. On the other hand, I didn't want RE4 to end.

Well, RE4 really isn't scary, it's just such revolutionary game that makes your jaw drop when you fight certain boss, etc. Grahpically it's just awesome..... for a console such as gamecube.

On the other hand, I have not yet seen DOOM3 on Xbox, but if are talking about pc version, D3 did not impress me at all. grahpics is good, but game play is far behind it's competitor such as Half Life 2. Without some nice patches, you will be finding yoursself in a very dark enviornment, walk by every corner and there is a zombie, they poppin' up so frequently it's not even funny. Maybe that's their idea of a scary game.

I would say get RE4, if you have no preference between FPS/soemwhat 3rd person adventure game. RE4 stands out more, while D3 is just a pretty fps games.

Resident Evil 4 rocked! This is what horror games are suppose to be, scary and intense. I couldn't stop playing it. I think RE4 is better than Doom 3. I haven't played it yet, but my friend told me about Doom 3. So i'm still going to rent it on Xbox. But I don't think it will be better than RE 4

I own both and I also give the nod to RE4.

While Doom is a pretty decent game, it does grow old fairly quickly. RE4 stays fresh throughout the entire experience. I also had more fun with Mercenaries mode in RE4 than through my whole Doom 3 experience thus far.

Unless you're a die-hard FPS fan and haven't played Doom 3 on the PC yet, I'd pick up RE4 in a heartbeat.
