anyone own doom I or II on gba? i've been playing doom on the 360 a lot and would love to get a portable version. hows the controls? graphics? i've never played a good fps on gba, but these seem to have received good reviews. can anyone recommend them? anyplace to get them for cheap?
I have Doom II. The graphics and everything.. great, but the blood is green.. which kinda kills it for me.
ahaha green blood sounds awesome! maybe censored it from red because a lot of kids own gba's? are they saying it's okay to kill aliens with green blood but not humans with red? sounds fascist to me :D. anyway i totally dig green blood.

good luck, finding them cheap. Both of them are out of of print and really to find in stores. Probably the best route is to snipe an auction then resell them back with a high buy it now, at least you get to play them for free with a littleleg of course

they're both very good conversions, and I used to own them, played through them several times. Doom 2 is more accurate to the PC but i feel the controls are a little worse/laggy. Doom 1 has none of the giant boss creatures like the spider robot, but alll of the levels.

They're both well worth finding and paying a decent amount for, and this topic makes me miss having them to play on the micro..

My brother has them, doom 1 is really disappointing in that the music is all jumbled up, the first stage doesn't start out with the classic e1m1 song :(

His copy of doom2 is a bootleg i believe as it's missing a line of info from the back of the cart that real gba games have. Yes the blood is green but it's still playable. I didn't make it to any of the bosses but that sucks if they aren't in either port.

I have doom 1 on GBA. Is ok. The problem is this: If you ever played the PC version, you know you can adjust the resolution. Playing the game on a GBA is like playing the PC game on its worst resolution.

The original Doom and Doom 2 for DOS only ran in 320x200. Later on a Doom95 client was released, which allowed launching in Windows and the option of changing the resolution to 640x480.
Duke Nukem 3D (Advance?) is hands down the best GBA FPS, I highly reccomend it, it's pretty hard to find though.
if you have links to where I can get it, LMK.

dood~!!!!

play Doom GBA, but plug a tape deck car adapter into the GBA's headphone slot.

then drive while playing (or while someone else is playing) with the stereo on,

it's one of the greatest experiences ever!!

Haha, could be the worst advice EVER.

P.S. Remind me never to ride with YOU.

I do that with Pheonix Wright all the time. My girlfriend hates it, but damn, it makes everything so dramatic.

Had no idea Duke Nukem was rare.. picked it up for 3.99 brand new at work.. also grabbed Doom 2 for 4.99, Wolfenstein 3D for 4.99.. waiting on someone to trade Doom in.

Damn, now I need to get Doom II and Duke Nukem for the GBA, they look awesome :)

Does anyone have Wolfenstein GBA here? I am interested in that, too.
