DOTD - The Wire - Complete Series $89.99 Amazon

Absolutely amazing show, for those that haven't seen it. One of the greatest dramas of all time, I'd say, and well worth the price.
 
I was considering picking this up but I just found out that DirecTV will be re-airing this show, uncensored, on their channel 101 starting in a few weeks.
 
Great show but i have seen it cheaper especially every december during the hbo sale at BB/DD, ill wait for it to drop some more, show is defiantly worth 89 and it is a good price its just im getting the lost complete set on BR, i just got deadwood the complete series and have been buying up other shows i cant justify 89$ right now

if you have patience i suggest waiting for the inevitable HBO 50% off sale over at bestbuy and deepdiscount later this year
 
From what I hear the packaging for this set is awful and lots of people receive scratched discs due to the packaging. You might be better off to just buy the individual sets.

Even if DD did the 25% off, it's still above Amazon's current prices. I think this is as low as it gets from establishd retailers. Ebay prices have always been around $60-70 but the chances of getting one that was brutalized is quite high.

My best friend bought it at Best Buy's HBO sale last year, and it was exactly this price. This is the third or fourth time Amazon's had it this price, if I remember correctly, but I don't recall ever seeing it cheaper new anywhere.
 
haha i had just started watching the series (2nd time for me) with my gf and was bitching to her how i wish it was cheap enough for me to buy the set (we were watching xvid rips). Boom it goes on DOTD today, i bought it.

amazing show, worth every penny. those of you waiting on a lower price keep in mind the only time this was EVER cheaper, was on amazon over a year ago when it was gold box for 83$ - a 7 dollar savings.

during the 50% sales events it hits same price as this.
