Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist S1 on DVD May 9

CAGiversary!
It's about time. I loved this show. I have a VHS I recorded of the Comedy Central fathers day marathon, which included a bunch of episodes. However, squigglevision + VHS quality + years on my shelf = barely watchable anymore.

DDDvd has a pre-order for $13.67. Not a bad deal at all.

You can see the boxart at tvshowsondvd.com:

So far, it looks like it will include commentaries from Jon Katz and H. Jon Benjamin. There is no other info about additional features.

As far as I can tell, Season 1 only had 6 episodes:

$14 for 6 episodes of Dr. Katz? Sign me up, that's for certain!

And a Duckman set would be godly...I just wish they could have finished the series. Doesn't it end on that multiple-wedding/"oh god, what in the holy name of hell is _______ doing there?!" episode? If so...damn, that's one hell of a cliffhanger that never got resolved.

Absolutely fantastic news! Ben Katz (Coach McGurk in Home Movies) is a great character.

Ben (To Laura): "You're just one great big ball of bitch."

Thanks for the heads up, OP!

Oh thank god. THANK GOD.

Dr. Katz marked the first time I learned about Mitch Hedburg. "I love tennis, but I'll never be as good as the wall."

Also Dave Chapelle on there was hilarious. "Whenever people are asked what superhero they want to be, they always choose Spiderman or Batman. No one chooses Aquaman. Aquaman walks around and talks to fish.

'Hi Aquaman.'

>>Greetings fish, have you seen anything suspicious today?

'...................Hi Aquaman.'

Somewhat related - Any news on Science Court? Not sure if anyone knows what I am talking about, but it was a Squigglevision show that took place in court with a defense attorney and a prosecutor. Ultimately the defense attorney (a woman) had to show why her client was innocent due to some scientific theorem. It was hokey attempt to get kids to learn, but it had a lot of "larger than life" characters on it like Coach McGoiurk, and was quite hilarious.

Science Court was great, you can still find it available to rent on VHS at many Public Libraries. My nephew rents them every so often. I watched it during it's original run back when Saturday Mornings still had a few semi-decent cartoons on. The stupidity of the Prosecuting Attorney was cartoon comedy gold!

OH MAN is this awesome news. I loved this show and honestly never thought it would see dvd release. I never thought it was popular enough to even get a sniff.

Doctor Katz was great in the beginning, but later it was just him "counseling" celebrities, and then it got dull because it was just them diong standup. In the beginning I dont think there were celebrities, it was just more wacky characters....

Then, we need TV FUNHOUSE on DVD! :)
