Dragon quest IV $4.96 NEW Gohastings
I'm not saying you haven't had those experiences with GH, but my experiences have been much more positive (partly because, understanding how their inventory system works for online orders, I realize that not every item I order will always be fulfilled). When I have had problems with anything they've shipped me, they've always paid for return shipping (happened 2 times during the crazy holiday sales).

Obviously each person should decide for themselves whether to buy from GH and there are plenty of comments around here, both positive and negative, for everyone to make an informed decision.
The problem lies with consistency. Successful businesses do and must rely on a high consistent level of quality. Sure, there is no business yesterday, today, and tomorrow that is perfect. But those that have been here yesterday, today, and tomorrow...are...due to their high-level consistent deliverance of quality.

Gohastings, simply, has not.

I've been here for a long time, and if there is one merchant that I have learned through the experiences of others through the years to avoid, it's Gohastings.

I'm not here to arbitrarily crap on them. All I am saying is that they have, on a long-time and consistent level, have delivered poor quality to their customers.

Giving their customers a credit is simply not enough. That is akin to sweeping their consistent errors under the rug. If they wanted to change their business quality...they simply would! But they have not.

This intrinsic issue has existed, as mind-boggling as it is, since last year. That is totally and completely unacceptable. Something the upper management of Gohastings has to address specifically. Their online end of the business has repeatedly been showcased to be tattered, at best.

It just simply is not trustworthy. This is their responsibility...and theirs alone. NEVER should a customer expect to treat a business transaction like a game of craps. This is not gambling, and customers should NOT be treated as gamblers.

In other words...businesses should make certain that their infrastructure is implemented as stable as it can possibly be, and updated and maintained appropriately.

If a business cannot abide by these measure, they should either not be in business, or they should equally accept the appropriate measures that will befall them by their negatively affected customer base.

Perhaps your experience is the exception. It's funny to me that someone who is pretty vehemently defending gohastings ALSO mentions that 'When I have had problems with anything they've shipped me, they've always paid for return shipping'. Even their satisfied customers have had problems. Now imagine what the hordes of unhappy customers have dealt with. The only other company I have dealt with that had a similar percentage of errors in orders is a much smaller company called spun.com. And their customer service was infinitely better.

They are a very remedial company, buy at your own risk, friends. And I don't mean to hijack the thread. But I warned early on.

Gohastings and EAstore are two companies you should buy from as a last resort.

I had to laugh at this last part and I think we may both be working together to maintain karmic balance because I've also had pretty positive experiences with the EA Store, while apparently you have not.

Not that I haven't had an issue with EA (the elastic band that came with EA Sports 2 broke on me), but the customer support people were very polite and did their best to work with me to resolve the situation. In the end, as a result of their efforts I came out ahead of what I was expecting. And as with GoHastings, I've gotten some incredible deals through the EA store.

I guess EA may be another case of YMMV. Or maybe it's just that my expectations are lower and my tolerance for things not meeting my expectations is higher.

Don't get me wrong, I'm more than willing to point the finger at a company when they fall short. For example, I got burned by Overstock.com when they misadvertised the standard release of Dragon Age 2 as the Bioware Special Edition. I purchased from Overstock instead of Gamestop because they were $7 cheaper only to find out the were selling something different than what they advertised. Tried to cancel my order and they sent it anyway. Sent it back (at their cost) and while they received it over a week ago I still don't haven't gotten my money back and need to call them once again. I'm not sure if I'll give them another chance after I get my money back, but I guess it will depend on what kind of deals they offer in the future.

I don't want to seem like i'm attacking you at all. EAstore probably isn't bad if you purchase pc games through them, but, they've outsourced BOTH their order fulfillment branch and their customer service for physical merchandise.

I'm a patient person. I never expect anything when I receive a mistaken order, we all make mistakes. That's why customer service is so important. I believe Gohastings ambitions have outgrown their abilities. They have some great deals, they just aren't prepared to compete with the big boys, and they shouldn't try.

On topic, $4.96 for Dragon Quest IV!? That would be an amazing price!!! I wonder if Gohastings has fixed their listing. Maybe the developers of Legend of Kage 2 work for GH.

I wouldn't have minded picking up Legend of Kage 2 for $5  Who knew I would have had to order DQIV to do so
Hey all. Obviously we have a data issue with the Dragon Quest IV title. Our web ID for Dragon Quest is unfortunately linked to Legends of the Kage 2.

First, although I know this is a hassle, our sales are always guaranteed. If you receive the wrong title, then we will always pay for the return shipping and refund the entire amount (including shipping).

In this case, I'm willing to go a step further and offer everyone who inadvertently purchased this title a goHastings.com gift card for $15.

That's just us saying we're sorry for the error. Email us at [email protected] and include your order number and we will take care of it.

Sorry,
John
Thanks for the offer John. GoHastings customer service is taking care of it for me. :applause:

Got mine too. They really didn't need to send it certified with return receipt though. Had to pick it up at the post office. No complaints though for free cash.

Ya i got mine too yesterday. Was certified so had to sign, notice it cost them $5 to mail it to me. Lol, funny it comes just when the 30% off used games from there site and i should it it...
