Dragon Quest IV (DS) - $12.99 shipped @ Newegg

I'd definitely recommend DQ IV for $12.99. That's a great price.

Sorry to jump somewhat OT, but does anyone know where I can find either a new or a complete used copy of DQ V for DS that doesn't cost an arm & a leg now? Thanks.
Grabbed a copy... now I got a sealed copy of all Dragon Quests. SO RARE
you have a sealed copy of

Dragon quest 1 , 2 ,3,4 for the nes

wouldnt that NES sealed 4 be worth a lot of cash....

Bought one, thx. I regretted not getting this from Amazon Warehouse Deals when they had around this price a couple months ago.
Sorry if im ignorant . . but why does DQ V cost so much now??
It seems like DQ V just had a much smaller production run than the others in the DS series. I haven't seen it in stores around here for years.

That's pretty much it. DQIV bombed (well, compared to what Square was expecting) so Square cut the production run for V way, way, wayyyyyy back. I heard less than 500k were printed.

Since Nintendo published IX and VI those two won't have those problems.

"Thank you for ordering from Newegg.com."

Caved as expected. Never played a DQ minus the first one and the way the story is structured sounded interesting. Having more DS RPG's never hurts either...thanks op

Even though I'm playing 2 other DS rpgs at the moment I caved in and bought a copy as well lol. Thanks OP.

Thanks finally get to add this to my collection. $12.99 is a great price. Im glad i was able to buy a sealed copy of V a year or so ago from BB Clearance.

Yes I would think a sealed copy of Dragon Warrior 3 and 4 would be worth a ton.

I have a sealed copy of Dragon Warrior VII for PS1. Anyone wanna pay a non-cheap price?

Thanks OP for this post! $12.99 for any dragon quest game is a deal.
I always see DQVII in the Amazon warehouse for $40. One of these days I might just get it.
I bought the last one that showed up for $42.99. Finally gave in to the temptation :bouncy:

Frankly if this were 5 or 6 I'd buy it for that price (even though I don't expect to like them), but I already had and was disappointed by this. I loved it back in the day for the NES, but it just felt like a series of searching for the next lever to trigger the plot further to me now.

Playing through Suikoden again right now and it feels super modern by comparison (despite being almost a launch PS1 game, that barely used the hardware!).

Thanks OP. I haven't used eBay in some time but looks like I'll be selling my Dragon Warrior IV NES copy sometime in the near future, thanks to you!

Make sure it's really as good first...it's probably just that my standards of changed, but I loved DQ4 on the NES, and was bored to tears by the DS one, so there's at least a CHANCE that it's actually a worse game.

EDIT: Plus personally I think it would be cool to own it on the NES, just 'cause :D

Yeah, I've still got my NES copy of DQ4 at my parents' house. I think it's 4. I know I have the original and 2 of the other 3 ones, but I'm not sure if I have 2 & 3, 2 & 4, or 3 & 4. I think I'll bite on this. I played it on an emulator a couple years back when it didn't look like the price was going to drop, but I'd like to have an actual legit copy.

Thanks OP. Played this already, but been meaning to add this to my Dragon Quest collection. Paid a good $50 for Dragon Quest 5 on Ebay thinking the game was going to be cheap like DQ4.

Now I just need to wait 'til there's a cheaper price for Dragon Quest 6.
Question about the gameplay:

Do you have to choose your own classes?
You don't.

In for one so thanks OP! Had a $5 gift card from a previous purchase so it only made the deal more sweet.

BTW, Frys Electronics has a price matching policy which they price match any internet offer too. Gonna try this.
