Ok, after reading Wikipedias entry on the Sega Dreamcast, I read that there were only 292 games, and I dont think it would be that hard to collect. I want to know a list of about 30 (It will probably take a looong time since I dont have a job) of games that have nothing to them. Dont understand? First, let me ask you this, did dreamcast have players choice or greatest hits? If not good. Now about my first question, what I mean is games that were just there, had no pre-order bonus, no collectors versions, to artwork etc so I can focus on getting those and worry about the nostalgia later.

For example, lets say the DS games had no PC versions, well the games I would want would be

Tetris
MPH (Although that un-holo version kinda makes it not ok)
New Super Mario Bros

Make sense? Also, make sure there also fun, I dont wanna buy a bunch of crappy games, thats for later :p

Yes they are known as Sega All Stars and have an orange spine that says Sega All Stars.

Well here's the Dreamcast Complete U.S. Checklist.

At this point you'd be really hard pressed to find any of the games with their original pre-order bonuses. Most of them just came on their own.. But if you want a list of 30 recommended games, how about... 32 instead:

Armada
Bang! Gunship Elite
Cannon Spike
Carrier
Charge 'N Blast
D2
Deep Fighter
Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm
Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern
E.G.G.
Evolution
Evolution 2
Grandia II
Illbleed
Maken X
Mars Matrix
Outtrigger
Power Stone
Power Stone 2
Record of Lodoss War
Samba De Amigo
Seaman
Silver
Skies of Arcadia
Sould Calibur
Space Channel 5
Starlancer
Super Magnetic Neo
Sword of the Berserk
Time Stalkers
Typing of the Dead
Zombie Revenge
Wow that just ruined my whole day :) thanks
:wall:

My friend Joe is collecting them all, and let me warn you. It will cost you at least $500 and a few months / years of searching. Just a friendly word of warning.
Well I had thought it would be perfect for me to try to collect them all, but now I gotta worry about Sega All Stars...
There's not that many Sega All-Star games, here's all of them:

Crazy Taxi
House of the Dead 2
Hydro Thunder
Marvel vs. Capcom
NBA 2K
NBA 2K1
NFL 2K
NFL 2K1
NFL Blitz 2000
NHL 2K
Power Stone
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Sega Bass Fishing
Sonic Adventure
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Virtua Tennis
World Series Baseball 2K1

Foxx2 is right, a lot of people hold onto their DC games and don't want to get rid of them. Especially the hard to find games.

Damn right! You'll have to pry my DC games from my cold, dead body!:booty:

That can be arranged :p

Wow, I'm no longer sad anymore. There isnt that many SAS games....why? Did the system stink or something?

They had to sell a certain amount(like GH, PC & PH games) and they didn't introduce the SAS line until a year after the system's release. Which a lot of games for DC didn't sell until stores marked them down(most happened after the system was discontinued). As you can see from the list I posted, a lot of those games were released around the DC's launch.

A couple key games:

Get Colonies! (JPN) - Is a de-Sanriofied version of Hello Kitty Fruit Factory (I think that's what it's called) and it's an awesome puzzle strategy game that you should be able to find for a good price. Think Chinese Checkers vs. Nash.

Virtua Tennis - Best tennis game ever? Maybe. Still holds it's own even 5 years later and you'll have 0 trouble finding a copy for $2. Just a great game.

Industrial Spy - Graphically pretty weak and it does take a little getting used to, but it has near infinite depth. It's a small squad RTS/RPG hybrid where you give orders to (but don't directly control) up to 4 characters (which you can select individually for each mission, and can upgrade skills) as you execute missions such as breaking into an Art Gallery or stealing information from a corporation. Again, it does take a little getting used to but it's truly unique.

Samba De Amigo - Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

That is a quite bit of money, but you probably didn't make all that much profit in the end. And you can't really put time and effort in monetary terms.

you are absolutely right...i lost money on that since i had initially never planned on selling them but things came up and i pretty much was forced to...i had brought most of the games when the DC was still active and price drops started happening at ebgames and funcoland... rarely paid full retail price though

It's okay. :( We all make mistakes. I wish I never traded in my Genesis collection, I had quite a few games complete. I miss my complete Mutant League games. :(

Its not really worth collecting for the DC anymore... alot of the games are outdated or were released on other platforms (sometimes superior). However, if you ever need a DC title I might have it... I have a small collection of DC games but I am looking to get rid of most of them except for stuff like Rayman 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and the holy grail of all DC games, Power Stone.

I've got a handful of 'em laying around somewhere and no longer have a system...a couple might even still be sealed lol.

If you are interested, PM me

I have a bunch well a set that i might be putting up for ebay. have about 120 games. From the looks of it 85 % of that list that was on top. I need to un box all that stuff and take a look at it.

QFT.

I cut my DC collection from 100 + down to 15... to be honest, you could get rid of SFA 3 and Power Stone as well, if you wanted to "upgrade".

Unless the games are extremely shitty, you'll make alot more listing them seperately... DC fans are fanatics, even the crappiest games in my collection I got $5 - $8 a piece for them.
Well here's the Dreamcast Complete U.S. Checklist.

Many thanks for providing the link, which is by all mean the official list, I saw this online a few years and Sega took it down. The only game that was not sold officially/commrcially in a single disc/case is Sega Swirl

Back in early 2001/2002, I was tempted to collect also Japanese DC games, which Sega published many more games. Good luck trying to find some SAS games like Power Stone and Marvel vs Capcom, I've seen those 2 games once in store, yes, just ONCE.

and the holy grail of all DC games, Power Stone.

Why is this a holy grail of DC games? I mean, I really like it and have it but doesn't strike me as being a carpenter's cup. As someone else pointed out, Power Stone 1 and 2 are being ported to PSP, but of course that's not the same as duking it out on a TV. I'd skip on Space Channel 5 for Dreamcast though, it had some synch issues between the background videos and audio.

You're thinking of the PS2 version.

spamfree2, yeah, MvC2 for DC is the only arcade accurate port. Capcom vs. SNK 1 on DC is also in the same case (a game which I also enjoyed through many bashed).
