Driving in India

some people think indian's are one of the smartest ethicnic groups in the world (Doctors, engineers, etc) yet they can't design a traffic light system for there own country.

How are there not like 30 accidents in that one clip alone? That one guy had to just stand there as two cars squeezed by him on both sides.

I was waiting for an accident. I used to hate traffic lights, after seeing that I appreciate them. In that whole clip the thing that got to me the most was the nonstop honking.

thailand is even worse.

in nepal, when i was on a bus headed for chitwan, i saw the charred remains of a bus down the mountain, and the next week on my way back from kathmandu i saw another charred bus next to it!

 Hee hee, those little 3 wheeled yellow cars are funny. All the cars look the exact same. If you were to commit a crime there, the getaway would be simple.

Wow. At least they all seemed to be going a rational speed for the stupidity of the street system. In the U.S., everyone would be going 50mph+ with a coffee in one hand and a cell phone in the other not paying attention.

I've heard in places like that street lights and signs just don't work. I've heard stories of people driving through a green light in heavy traffic, and a bus or car going the perpendicular direction with a red light will just blast through the intersection and almost take out 5 people and not even know why what he did was wrong.

Could you imagine just trying to revamp the driving situation there? It would be a nightmare. Trying to tell all these shitty drivers that they now have to obey these street lights and signs, and basically trying to get every driver back into the BMV (or whatever they have there) to teach and test them on all the new rules of the road. Not to mention the cops trying to inforce these new rules on a public that has been driving one way for years only to have to change.
