Drug tests and hiring..
I doubt there's a federal statute, if that's what you're asking for. I'm surprised at the Washington law since I'm fairly certain public intoxication (drug use aside) is disorderly wherever I've lived. How many states do you need to see it illegal in for it to make or break your point?
Well, more than 50%, though I don't care. It just seemed to run counter to what I believed about drug law. Of course, the man is always looking for more ways to keep prisons full, so I shouldn't be surprised about such laws as NJs.

I didn't bother to read this thread, but given that we had one exactly like this a year ago, I can assume it will be a combination of the following:

1) People calling OP an idiot
2) OP attempting to defend himself
3) People defending OP
4) People calling people defending OP stupid, while calling OP stupid
5) A halfbaked (har har) attempt to find laws regarding drug use/testing/job applications/etc
6) Drug users talking about how drugs aren't bad and people saying they aren't bad aren't the enlightened intelligentsia that they themselves are. Note that these tend to be high schoolers and/or college kids who don't have jobs.
7) People calling said people stupid
8) Drug users/proponents of drugs calling everyone stupid

If it hasn't happened yet, it'll start to.

What is the winning numbers for tonight's lotto?
Please PM me with the detail.

Predictions for you, eh?

Let me think about this.

Oh. You won't have sex with anyone but yourself - or a willing quadraped - for several more years to come.

Hmm... I think there was a little bit of 1 and 2 at the beginning, maybe a bit of 3... part of 5 was just debated (not really related to the job app though), but shockingly 6, 7, and 8 haven't come around yet.

Oh no!
Your predictions are wrong this time.
You must find a way to recharge your power.

This is getting a little off topic (and weird). It ends now.

Back to the original subject.
What are we talking about now?!
Oh yea..............
DRUGS...............
Ahhhh..........
Say NO to drugs.
There, I made an informative post.

shut up, stupid!

I've passed like 20 drug tests already... and I still use drugs. For someone like yourself, I'd say 3 days is enough for you to be clean if you drink water at a regular pace, no special accomodations necessary, 5 days or so if you wanna be safe about it. Friday -> Tuesday = 4 days so I think you'll be fine. THC tends to bind to fat cells... so, don't eat too many fatty foods and try to run (sweat) a little.

Btw, I heard that companies issue drug tests for legal reasons. Mainly, if you're found to fail a drug test after you've already been hired, not only are they not allowed to fire you, but they can choose to send you to mandatory rehap, all while paying for missed time AND your rehap. This is why companies try not to hire crackheads and give out those initial drug tests. Why they give out further drugs tests? I don't know, they'll probably black list you and fire you later for something else...

If you're high and you injure yourself, (or worse) someone else, they are legally responsible so it's mostly a safety issue why they would retest certain people. Especially those who are "accident prone".
Just don't use drugs period and you wont have to worry about such problems.
Things like this happen rarely. Don't let such minor hurdles get in the way of your drug use! Just next time be sure to be clean when you put in a job application. :)

Personally I feel weed is a lot safer than alcohol. Alcohol, as far as I know, has caused a lot more deaths than weed. I agree that people shouldn't do hardcore drugs BUT I also think it is their own choice. We live in a free country. It is true that certain people that do drugs are irresponsible, etc but not everyone is like that. I would say that going into work "high" is wrong though.
Alcohol, as far as I know, has caused a lot more deaths than weed.
Duh...?

One is legal and has easy access too... the other isn't. So of course alcohol has caused more deaths.

Both are equally deadly, it's just you don't find as many people driving while high and driving while drunk. I forgot where it was but they did a study. One bowl actually doesn't impair your driving, it calms you down and in some people improves it. But after that it degrades just like alcohol.

The two are really hard to compare though because ones legal/social (or socially accepted) and the other isn't as mainstream (yet).

I was just about to bump this last night, congrats man

meanwhile, my friend has to take a blood test at some point this month (doesn't even know if they're going to test for weed) and he's been carrying a 2L water bottle with him whereever he went for the past two weeks

This isn't true in VA, and I really doubt there is a law like this in any state.
This isn't true in VA, and I really doubt there is a law like this in any state.
Actually I remember hearing about that during training when I worked at a convenience store back in '01, but that was in Missouri. No idea if it was law or just company policy though.
Shave your head so they can't do the hair test (better shave the short 'n' curlies, too. You don't know how far they might go!). ;)
If you shave your head they go for the butt hair , or so my friend says, watch out! :hot:
