DS Download Stations Updated V 3
This article states that volume 3 of the DS Download station is out:

http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/ds-dow...wnload-station-pic-in-living-color-200829.php

It says it has clubhouse games, elite beat agents, and Mario vs DK 2. I probably won't rush out to look for one since they may not be up everywhere yet, but this sounds like a more interesting selection than volume 2....
Sweet! All 3 games I wanted to check out! :)

Awesome... I'm pretty dead set on EBA (figure it's cheaper to pay $35 for that than to import Ouendan for $40+ without knowing anything about it), but a demo can't hurt to be sure on both counts. And I keep wanting to want Mario vs. DK, so that'll be a good one.

I just asked EB about it yesterday, they didn't know, but I'm guessing they don't find out about it til the Nintendo rep comes in with the new demo, assuming that's how they do it.

A few of the stations I've hit in the past couple months are still pimping Vol. 1! But hopefully this will roll out to one of the places I'm near soon as I'd love to check those games out.

Awesome!

Clubhouse games and EBA are very high on my DS wishlist, I gotta try them out. Ouendan was awesome, and clubhouse games has all of my favorite board and card games, with online WiFi and .......ONLINE PICTOCHAT!!!w00t!

I'm getting both when they come out

I always use the DS demo units to access the Download Stations to see if they update and none of the stores near me are on Vol 3.

we got volume 3 today. i popped it in and just happened to have my DS with me. so i tried out EBA, and its great. i cant wait for this game.

Anyone seeing the volume 3 download station showing up yet? I'm looking forward to it showing up around here, I want to play all 3 of those games.
Sweet! I can't wait to get out and see what tracks are there for EBA.
i didn't really like the two songs in the videos that ign has

The EBA demo only has one song (on what I can only describe as Extremely Easy difficulty) and it's the one with the babysitter.

The music seems more compressed than Ouendan, but that could just be because I can actually understand what they're saying...

Finally made it over to check out the updated demos.

The EBA demo is way way too short IMO. Kind of left me thinking the game is too simplistic to be worth my time. Just clicking areas of the screen in time with the music coupled with a zany story. Maybe when/if it drops to really cheap levels.

Also checked out the Mario vs DK 2 demo. Kind of felt like it needed to hold my hand a little more about how the controls/environment things work since you obviously won't have a manual to go with the demo. For example I had no idea why some of the pink blocks allowed me to extend them and others didn't. Actually now that I think about it maybe you can only have one set of them extended at a time or something like that. A brief pop-up in the demo explaining things would have been great.

I tried the demo at Best Buy yesterday for mario vs dk2. I liked it and my son did as well, I had already bought the game earlier for 23.99 at circuit city, but this way my son could try it before we opened it. Mickey

Anybody know what retailers usually have a download station? I'm not going to make a special trip but just so I know where to bring my DS next time I go to one of those stores.
Nintendo has a search page to show you where local download stations are located:

http://www.nintendo.com/dsdownloadstation/search.jsp

EB/GS, Best Buy, Target, Game Crazy are the stores I know of that typically have them. Circuit City and Wal-Marts don't for example. My local TRU doesn't according to that search.
TRU in New Hartford, NY has one, as does the Wal-Mart in Rome, NY. Kinda weird that only certain stores in a chain would have them...

Around here the Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, and both Wal-Marts have them. Still no V3 here yet, though.

Interesting, I wonder if it's just that this search hasn't been updated in a long time. Does your local Wal-Mart or TRU show up in that search?

My local Wal-Mart and TRU are in the same shopping center as a Target and Best Buy that I know have them. I've checked at that Wal-Mart and it didn't as of several months ago, thought it would be a natural thing for them to have.

Just checked, neither Wal Mart or TRU show up on that search. Damn strange, since I downloaded MvDK2 at Wal Mart just last week, and the TRU employees were encouraging kids to try out the demos while waiting in line for Mew last Saturday. I'm thinking the website needs an update.

I snagged the MvDK2 demo last week at Target.

Thanks for checking. I'll have to check my local TRU and Wal-Mart next time I've over there just for giggles. I bet they both have them now. If so that mean you could stand in the middle of the parking lot and see 4 different stores with download stations.
Huh. I guess I just never noticed them before.
They are supposed to have them. The 2 closest GS/EB stores to me are notorious for always having their machines shut off.

I tried EBA and found it to be totally fun, just a bit too short and easy. However, with the increasing hype (of the original) the game has been getting I'm sure it will be a valid experience. I also tried MvsDK2 and unfortunately was not too impressed. The funny thing is that I already bought the game at CC few days ago just didn't have time to open it. I thought the demo was clever but I think I would get bored of the game as soon as I figured out the trick to each stage. However the pleasant surprise was the 2 demos for Clubhouse Games; especially the Darts game. At first I didn't think there was much skill to the game and the controls didn't really provide any "control" of the dart but after a while I started to get the hand of it. Now, I'm really hooked on that game + after seeing that it's a part of a 42 game compellation, I think the entire package will be steel. Check it out:

Has anybody else played the Darts demo???????????????????????

I just grabbed that demo yesterday. It can be frustrating to hit the lower half of the board at least for me. But I sort of kind of got the hang of it after a while.

I've played 3 games on the demo and currently have the DS sleeping in the middle of a 4th so I guess I did find it pretty addictive.

Yeah, the search definitely hasn't been updated in a while, neither of the Wal-Marts here show up. Also, the site doesn't even list V3 yet. It'd be nice if they'd put a little time into updating the search with what stores have download stations and which version.

There are two available to download, darts and one other (can't remember) but you can only get one at a time. They are seperate demos.

When I said I had played 3 games on the demo I meant three games of darts. Although they do give you 3 variations of darts in that demo.

Just so you know, the demo is set on a very easy difficulty level. Ouendan is one of if not the absolute hardest game on the DS.
What games on clubhouse games are on the demo?
Turncoat and Darts. They are 2 seperate demos.

Hey furyk, how do you like Ouendan, how many levels are there and does it get repetative after a while? How many difficulty levels are there, is there a big diff b/w each and do you unlock new songs/levels with each difficulty; or do you just play the same song/level faster?

Ouendan is fantastic, its got around 12 levels and it has 3 difficulty levels. Hard or not it lures you right back in for more punishment because its fun as crap.

Actually there are 4 difficulty levels; Easy, Normal, Hard, Super Hard :)

And, IIRC, there are around 14-16 levels, not just 12, but I could be mistaken

Just grabbed the other demo today. Turncoat is equivalent to Othello (or maybe you've called it Reversi.) Basically as long as you know a bit of basic strategy it's fairly easy to crush the computer with the standard board. They have a few gimmick boards that are tougher for me. Didn't reallly get as much play out of this one as I did with Darts before getting tired of it.

I'm going to have to drag some patio furniture to the games section at Target so I can sit and play these for a while.

Yeah I try NOT to REMEMBER those female cheerleader levels. Super Hard indeed you need superpowers to make it through them. :hot:

And yeah there is definitely more than 12. My brain isn't working. heh.

Ouendan is one of my top ten DS games out on the system. There are 15 total levels, easy and normal are unlocked from the beginning. It's similar in how Parapa the Rapper progresses. After beating a few levels, a new set of levels unlock. You need to beat each set of levels to unlock the next set of levels and so forth.

The songs get significantly harder as each difficulty goes up. There's more spaces to hit and you're going faster when hitting them. It's very much like Dance Dance Revolution in a sense as some songs are clearly harder then the others (Ready Steady Go being the Max Whatever of the Ouendan world).

In total there are only 15 songs with 15 different missions designed around them. While this may seem like a small number, each song has a tremendous amount of replay value to it. I spent a solid four weeks on just the normal songs trying to unlock the "hard" songs. Granted I have no rhythym. I suck at Ouendan, but it never took more then three tries on any mission in Trauma Center (if that's a judge of difficulty)
