pac n roll reminds me of that rolling-snowball minigame in mario64DS... just in an expanded form with a much bigger level. game looks fun. and that spinning pac d00d on the bottom screen is pretty funny.

$35 fun? Kirby and Pac Pix were fun, but not $35 fun.

Yeah that looked good Apposum.

Tommorrow I hope to get: Nanostray (PLEASE GS STILL HAVE IT), Mr Driller (in the mail), Nintendogs on reserve, and Sleepy *hopefully* will get FTM from Japan.

Dual-screen Bubble Bobble.

I just bought my DS a week ago and have been having a blast with Kirby and Feel The Magic. I was actually planning on picking up Mr. Driller next, but now I'm having second thoughts. Is it really so bad, Gameguy and Nigel?

hey, i don't speak or read japanese, but is there any game I should pick up (i'm in tokyo) that won't come stateside that won't require reading japanese?

I don't want a happy colored one, i'd like to play games on the subway or on campus and not look like a total geek (read: red, white or blue).

damn... should i get one in Japan... it makes sense to...

You should pick up "Hey! Fight! Cheer Squad! (Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!)" There's some Japanese text, but supposedly you can get by without knowing anything. I hear it's the best game on the DS so far.

i personally didnt enjoy mr driller on ds all that much. first off i didnt really see any sort of depth or anything to the game. seemed kind of simple minded and a lot about luck. also the dpad for that game didnt seem to work well... id be holding Down and it would go left or right once in a while... this is coming from someone who can always deal with dpads no matter the system. if anything is to its merit, the dual screen thing does work pretty well if you can get use to looking at both screens... gives you more warning of what is falling from above.

I was really hoping someone would chime in. Wow, that's really weird about the D-pad, especially since it seems like the different directions are really spread out (compared to, say, an SP or N64 D-pad). I was pretty hell bent on getting this game, but this was probably the only kind of nay-say that would change my mind.

I never had a problem with the controls on Mr. Driller. It's a hard game, but if you spend the time, it's great. You might want to consider getting the Gamecube version.

I too had the d-pad problem, which was the only reason i even tried the stylus...and that was worse. I havent actively been looking, but apparently Mr. Driller2 has been released for GBA(or soon will be)

Gamecube version???

Dreamcast/Playstation/Gameboy sure...but Gamecube? (Checks Gamefaqs...) Ahh, Japan.

I Highly suggest the Dreamcast one...almost a flawless port in my eyes

I gave a quick look around, and it generally scored slightly lower than Drill Spirits across the board.

i played mr driller back in the day on PSX... i thought it was a fun game but wasn't all that addicted or attached to it after playing it some...

i dont know what that dpad problem was... it's pretty weird actually... everything else ive played has been perfectly fine for the dpad... all my GBA games especially since a lot of NDS games dont use dpad as much.

Well I have Nanostray now but I have yet to play it. Majestico slacked off on this release. The insert is too big for the ds case, Part of it sticks out on the top and the bottom. The shrinkwrapping is also garbage. I bought one and had to return it because a big chunk of the insert was on the grey part of the case and was beat up.

Hopefully I can get Nintendogs reserved tommorrow and pick up a copy of Yoshi Touch and Go.

Yeah, the shrinkwrapping is way too loose and the cover image looks like it belongs on an NES game. Though I must say that the in game graphics look amazing for a first gen DS game. I only got to play two levels so far, so i'm not sure what to make of the controls yet.

to date: Not a lot of DS games for me yet. My wife bought Meteos and Kirby, both of which are cool. Kirby was the best and most original platformer I've played in a while, I don't even like platformers since the move to 3D-collect-stuff. Playing it at high speed or without using ink is fun too, although sometimes frustrating.

looking forward to:

Lunar: Dragon Song (basically the reason I bought the DS)
Mario Kart for the online & wireless multiplayer at work (the other reason I bought it)
Animal Crossing (the wife wants this one, she never plays it on the GC but says it's the kind of game she'd want for a handheld - fan of the Sims)
2d Mario Bros

and possibly Age of Empires - turn based strategy, yay!

Romance of the Three Kingdoms for DS is apparently coming out in Japan...hopefuly that makes it here.

I've had my DS since launch and i love it. These are some of the games I want that i didnt see posted by anyone else yet: Super Princess Peach, Metroid Dread (the 2D metroid, ive only seen a note about it in Game Informer), Viewtiful Joe DS, Guilty Gears Dust Strikers, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Golden Nugget Casino DS, Bust a Move DS.

Does anyone recommend: Zoo Keeper, Pac Pix, Polarium, Bomberman DS? I know some people love Zoo Keeper but is it really that good?

P.S- i have an unrelated kinda question... I got Yoshi touch and go for $20 and Feel the Magic for $15 (both used) at EB yesterday but the prices said $28 for Yoshi and $18 for Feel. Has anyone else run into this? I'm happy to get cheaper games and all but i was about to not get them because i thought they were more than they really were

Rxneo: I recommend PAc Pix, definately. I haven't played any of the others.

It isn't a flawless game, and it is sometimes frustrating when the game doesn't recognize your Pac-Man, but it's definately worth a play. I like it a lot, and it's challenging, not a push over. Or atleast I don't think it is.

I mentioned GG: DS already.

Pac Pix was alright from the demo I played. Zoo Keeper was worth the $10 I spent. Don't know about the other 2.

Zoo Keeper rocks, Pac-Pix is way too short (I beat it on my cousin's DS!), Poluarium is good but it's not worth more than $10 (hell, look at it.. it looks like a $10 game), and I never played Bomberman DS.

so has anyone had the chance to play any of the awesome titles comming soon? if so, which?

I'm really looking foward to advance wars at the end of the month... I might give nintendogs a go if I get it for free... prob not though

at the SDCon i was able to play Advance Wars, Nintendogs, Viewtiful Joe, Phoenix Wright, Metroid Prime, Castlevania and Mario Kart. they all weren't that bad, i especially liked Viewtiful Joe, Phoenix Wright and Advance Wars.

What exactly IS Viewtiful Joe? Is it worth a play? When it comes out, shoul I try the console verisons before the DS one?

Oh, and I think Nintendogs will be a serious system seller. Sell a DS bundle for 170 bucks with Nintendogs, and I think people will see the light. xD

Nintendogs ain't no system seller. If it is then it's sad people paid $150 to play with a fake dog.

Viewtiful Joe 1 is definately worth picking up.

'Kay, I'll look for a dandy deal on VJ1 for PS2 then.

As forNintendogs, around now people are hearing of Nintendogs awesome lineup at the end of this year. I know if I didn't have a DS I'd buy one now so I could play Nintendogs among others.

Viewtiful Joe on the DS is completely different from the console version. you make use of the touch screen A LOT. from what i've played, all of Joe's special "skills" require that you use the touch screen, but if you like the console version, you'll like the DS version as well.

is it sad that some people buy an xbox to play with fake guns in that game called halo? is it sad that some people buy a ps2 to play as this fake black guy in some fake city called san andreas? is it sad that people would buy a PC to play as fake people in some game called sims?

video games for all ages. that is nintendo. you might not like to play with fake dogs, but a whole bunch of other people will.

Yeah, especially if it's Halo 2. Yeah, since it's on PC and Xbox (and I like how he's a "black" guy). Yeah considering it's on other systems.

You fail at arguements.

ummm... missing the point and claiming his argument is phail... hrm. not to be rude, but i'd say you failed this one sir.

i personally thought he stated it well. you could say what you said about nintendogs about any game. $150 to play with a fake dog. okay. $150 to play with a fake football with fake teammates. (i know im basically repeating what the other guy said). $150 to ride a fake skateboard around a fake skate park/city...

i guess you might argue that nintendogs is mimicking something that is 100% feasible in real life. go ahead and argue that. that would be a better argument than trying to say the other guy was mistating facts.

oh and... zoo keeper is really good. i wasnt all that big a fan of bejeweled and all that. that's basically what zoo keeper is. but zoo keeper executes it better than bejeweled. firstly, you have the excellent stylus control which is a lot easier than a mouse since it's direct selection (as opposed to the mouse's translated selection). also, unlike bejeweled, you can continue to knock out stuff while the previous match disappears, thereby making combos.

bomberman ds is good for the multiplayer. it is really fun, even with only 2 ppl (but add bots so it doesn't feel so empty). i personally havent played the single player so i cant opt for that but my friend seemed to be enjoying the single player a lot. but......... it might be stupid to buy the game now. later this year or... sometime within a year... they're releasing a new version of bomberman that supports the nintendo wi-fi thing.
You fail at spelling.
haha i didnt notice that misspelling at first.

I wouldn't recommend Bomberman unless you have someone to play it with. For the time I played it I found single player, as always, fun, but not worth the cost of the game.

Now, multiplayer was awesome, and was worth the price 100%.

Is Zoo Keeper ess than 20 bucks anywhere?
Is Zoo Keeper ess than 20 bucks anywhere?
It can be found for $10 at Kmart during their BlueLight weekend sales (they usually happen once every 2 or 3 weeks). Watch the deal forum, it'll be reported when it happens.

I have a mint and complete copy of Zoo Keeper for cheap in my sale list.

At least list some worthty examples. No game is worthy to purchase a system by itself. Not even Resident Evil 4. If you pay $150 just to play a football or skateboarding game, you are retarded.

Sorry I made a typo. You post count is now 1 number bigger, Congratulations.

How is Polarium?

I've heard mixed feelings. One of my pals finds it extremely fun, another finds it rather boring.

I'm in the middle. I, persoanlly, wouldn't pay full price.
