DS Lite $74.97 at RadioShack B&M

Decided what the hell, still love my original Cobalt Blue DS (built like a tank) but found one remaining White DS Lite at one of the local Radio Shacks for $64.97. Charging it up now.

I've long known the benefits to the DS Lite screen (having played a sibling's often) but also OTOH long preferred the stout nature of the "phat", including the solid click of the buttons. But at this price I'll finally let the Cobalt DS take a well-earned rest--as the battery seems to want at this point--and revisit some old favorites on the Lite's brighter screen.

No worries as I plan on changing the case on it after I get it.

I will try to find a Silver, Crimson (fav DS Lite color), or Blue one first. There's a ton left in stores between where I live & my parent's house about 2 hours away. I'll try to hit up one of those if they have any left sometime soon.
 
Been waiting for a deal on the DS Lite. Gave my "fat" one to my mom, so looks like it's time for an upgrade. The blue ones are in stock at the mall near me. Thanks OP.

Pricing matching at Best Buy is very YMMV - some had success, though.
 
UPDATE:

I found a Radioshack and bought a Blue one and a Pink. If any CAG is interested I will sell for 100 shipped (this includes Priority Mail + Signature confirm).

Ill do it for anyone at clearance price 64.97 + shipping if you really want ill even get my store with inventory to ship it to yours and you won't have to pay in till you pick it up. I can get things shipped from my store to another store. If i ship it to you myself i will only charge a bit = to the gas to go pick it up or site to store it my time is free.

That's because its sitting in a shopping plaza where the publix shut down along with walgreens and its across the street from a retirement center for seniors lol

No more now and wasn't able to get any site to store I'm still trying the closest stores to me now. Sold out and every one is site to store the next closest ones.

Well i just got another from far away site to my store now i have to call my store to tell them to hold it for me.

They had more but the guy was only willing to ship one from the looks of it anyone can call any store with inventory and have them site to store it for free just need both stores info and make sure the store getting it is holding it for you.

btw they are the $75 only $65 if i can get them to take the coupon which isn't suppose to work anyway.

So basically any one in the market for one still has the option at these prices.

ps i had to site to store 2/3 of my silver dualsshocks from the controller deal so that's how i knew.

It pretty much is and being that anyone can site to store themselves I'm not doing it since I'm not getting anything but i told them what to do.

Btw this process does have its bugs

When i did this with ps3 controllers two stores wouldn't ship one because the employee was new with the manager on vacation and the other i don't know.
Also the store that shipped mine would have shipped how ever many i wanted while as just now one store had more then one but only will ship one.

So if your local store don't have it and your still on the market all that it takes is a phone call maybe more then one though a couple and that's it.
 
Thanks for the heads-up. I found a store two hours away that had one a couple of days ago but didn't want to drive that far just for one. Called them and they are going to try and figure out how to mail it to me (hopefully.)
 
I had good success yesterday. I went to my local RS first thing in the morning and the manager was having a Pink and Silver already shipped from another store, due to come in that afternoon. The pink was claimed, but he got the silver in and called me, even held it till I got off work. I got that one for $75. Got some $8 PS2 controllers and other sale DS accessories. They let me use the $10 off $40 coupon too!

I also called another local store and they had a white and silver, got there and she didn't know about the price changed, they were at 89 or 99 on the tag. She tried to tell me they don't do the internet prices, but she rang them up and they were $65!!! :) As I was finishing the transaction, someone else came in for them! Sorry too late!

Tried Walmart, they were a PITA. Waited like 20 min for a manager that wouldn't even follow their price match policy. Said that it had to be a sale flyer ad. Dumb!

Still! I really wanted a red one and my brother wanted a blue. We went to one Bestbuy and they only had blue. Scored a price match by showing the website print out and RS stores that had it in stock. Got home and I called another Bestbuy and they had the red. They said they would have to call the RS stores and make sure they had them in stock. Even though they were probably sold out, I brought the in stock status page with and showed them the price. They didn't bother calling, price matched no problem! Easy as pie at both stores!

My bro picked DQ9 too, now we can coop! Guess it won't be long before the lite is phased out. Will be nice to have some backups and for wifi multiplayer.

I thought Bestbuy doesn't match online prices or anything without a flyer? Is it a YMMV?
 
I had the newest RS store check all surrounding stores with DS Lites listed as in-stock and NONE of them had any left.

Oh well. Not like I really, really wanted one anyway.;)

the cobalt has a matte finish on the black on the bottom, which is a lot nicer on the hands during extended sessions. the glossy finish simply doesn't breathe.

Hmm...didn't realize Radio Shack could have one shipped from another store. If they do that, do you have to pay up front or when they get it in?

ALL stores in my are wiped out now...there is another store a couple of hours away that has one that I might go friday to see if they will ship it.

*keeps fingers crossed*

I wonder if I could do a Best Buy price match if it shows sold out...I'm assuming not.

or basic summary is this.

Bestbuy will price match if you bring a print out of the page and they will want to validate that RS has them in stock. I printed the RS page with all of the DS lites listed on it. I also then printed the in stock status pages of every RS I could find that was supposed to have them. I probably would have been out of luck if they wanted to call all the RS to verify stock, but they didn't! They were cool about it and it was super easy for them to make the price match in their computer. I'd say to give it a shot and report back!

Yes, and make sure that with printing - everything is very clear and on one page. :)

My local BB is pretty good about pricematching as I recently pricematched White Knight Chronicles about a month or two ago.

I'll see what convincing I can do once I get some extra cash. :lol:

I just came home with a Cobalt Blue DS Lite after price matching at Best Buy.

Found it on the shelf in to store, took it to the customer service counter, showed the printout from RS web site and another page showing it in stock at a nearby RS (which I really doubt has any) and I was out of there less than 5 minutes later having paid $7497+tax. The guy was totally cool and didn't bother to call RS and didn't need to get a manager's approval.
 
Price matched a Cobalt Blue one at BB, no problem. Just took it off the shelf and to the customer service desk, showed them the internet printout, no problem. Damn good deal. Thanks, OP.
 
Heh, I got owned.

I've been to three different BBs and every single one of them has denied me a price match. All three have required vocal confirmation with the nearest Radio Shack, and because I've been to all three stores after The Shack's closing hours, no confirmation means no price match.

I'm not sure if I have the stamina to go to any more Best Buys. There are 7 more stores in my area I could try, but I'm kind of tired lol.
 
I recommend going when there is a shift change and don't go to customer service. Just go straight to the checkout line. I'm sure you'll get it :)
 
Hmm I was late the party on this deal. Its the 19th and I just saw this thread.

Looks like the Radio Shack 4 minutes from me has a Silver. Are they still ringing 65? Ill probably head over regardless with the coupon.
