DS Lite Speaker Issues

A while back, my wife dropped my DS Lite on the tile floor. The only issue was with the speakers. Often times, the audio will sound very tinny and ugly -- usually with heavier bass music tracks.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Anyone send in a unit to Nintendo for repair, and can give an account of cost/speed/ease of repair?

You can try replacing your DS Lite speakers. The Nintendo Repair Shop has replacement speakers and DS Lite repair videos to show you how to open up your DS Lite and de-solder/solder on new speakers.
