DS Lite?

CAGiversary!
I know this may not be for the right forum, but since I have a Wii... I hope it still counts

Don't know if I should buy a DS Lite or a PSP. DS Lite's cheaper ofcourse, and I hear the games are "innovative" but what does this mean? How innovative can you get 2d games to be?

So what's the deal with synching to your Wii? Have they gotten this to work yet? What can you do with it? Meaning does it let you download games via Wii console from Wii Shop or let you do online multiplay with others having a DS too?

But chances are, I probably wouldnt even use the portable gaming. What I really want is a machine that can connect WiFi to the internet so I can check my email and surf during lectures (we have wifi here at UCI)

You probably want a pocket PC phone or a laptop. You most definitely don't want to browse the web on a PSP.

I second the Axim recommendation. I got one a year ago fro Xmas and I've been using it to take notes with an IR keyboard as well as surf the web.

Yeah, they have lots of emulators available. I've installed an NES one before and it ran great besides having to use the small buttons for a controller. However, I since updated my ROM and wiped everything clean I haven't bothered re-installing it. I really need to re-install my GPS software.

I also invested a little money and got the bluetooth keyboard and mouse for the axim, they're awesome. I love the keyboard because they're actually full size keys and it folds up so small.

. . . oh yea, and its great for porn.

DS Lite does a good job of emulating NES games, which is one thing I'm pumped about for mine (a buddy of mine had one of those media player carts that allowed software installation, and NES emulation was the big thing that had me pumped about that - plus video/music play). Those features, along with DS's amazing library of titles and the Opera browser (even if it's slow and kinda crippled), make it like the ideal handheld device, for me.

Anyway, I'm super excited to get a DS Lite. I have not been able to buy one all year because pretty much my entire video game budget has gone towards saving up for a Wii (which was so worth it). I've been planning to buy one first thing in January once I get some student loan cash to spend, but my mom was telling me she wants to get me one for Christmas because she wants to buy something she knows I'll fall in LOVE with...so that's great, I'm excited to get it earlier and for free!

I can count at least 15 games I REALLY want that are out right now. I'll get two games in December (my brother wants to grab me something too, so I'll recommend that) but beyond that, I can count at least 14 other games I REALLY want - not including titles that haven't been released yet.
