I ended up imported a DS Lite about a month ago, and i don't regret it one bit..
From the beginning i hate hate hated that big fat DS.. Just one look at that thing turned me off. It was huge. The xbox of the recent handheld world. I couldn't stick that thing in my pocket, or even hold it comfortably.
I still wanted one since there were several DS games that are simply magnificient.. It was a love/hate relationship. So i borrowed my friends' DS's every now and then.
Then the news of the DS Lite surfaced and i was in love. The DS Lite solved this retarded oversized handheld issue in one fail swoop. Though because of the money to import such a thing, i didn't jump in the boat too quickly.
After budgeting around money, i decided to jump on the second release of the DS Lite in Japan, and spent $220 overall. Man... when the UPS guy knocked on the door that morning, i immediately hopped out of bed. NINTNEDO SIXTY FOOOOOOUUURRRRR!!
Honestly, the DS Lite is a beautiful sexy looking machine that i don't regret paying $90 extra dollars to get it 2 months ahead of time. Plus i got the Enamel Blue one, so i'll still be l33t for a little while longer.
It's not without it's troubles though.. The DS Lite is a magnet for finger-prints because of its shiny surface. also, GBA carts stick out of the slot rather than being flush as with the GBA SP and DS Fat. These both really annoyed me at first, but i don't really care about that anymore.
After playing through Castlevania and Phoenix Wright, i am perfectly happy with this little machine. ^_^

uh... so anyways, personally, i feel the decision is a very simple one. $130 is an enormous steal for the DS Lite. You may be considering whether or not to get one, but by the time you make that decision, you won't be able to find them anywhere...
