I just hope it allows us to fight giant rats over and over again... and maybe it'll have tons of semi-useful artifacts and power-ups hidden in random crates with a ratio of about one artifact to every twenty low-level healing herbs, too.

I think the blandess is amplified by the tile setup. Freaking tiles? In 2005? In a 3d RPG? Come on!
