How many people are using "Nintendo wifi usb connector" and "how many are using a third party usb wi fi usb connector like belkin and a slew of the other b and g usb wi fi connectors.

Also how much do you play online and what games you play online the most?

wheres the router choice? honestly, just invest that 40 bucks towards a router. my linksys wrt54g works great. my friend has the nintendo usb dongle, she has returned it once and seems to have problems with it quite often.

Because
1) I don't like wireless with nettumbler etc, wireless seems to always become unsecure
2) to secure it best as possible you have to worry about that, my wired router is easy to secure.
3) why buy wireless router just for DS when everything else will be wired gig if I invest 40 dollars. If I upgrade the router I need more speed, I am a speed junky when it comes to transfers over my network, hence I am not a fan of wireless.

I was going to get the Nintendo USB dongle but I realized that you HAD to within a certain distance from the dongle before the DS can't find it. And since our main PC is in the basement, I decided I didn't wanna stay down there to play my DS online (too cold). I picked up a $50 router and can play it anywhere.

And I'm not sure where you got the idea that a wired router is safer than a wireless router, but it's not all that true.

I chose the Nintendo USB dongle since I refuse to give up the WPA Security I've setup on my wireless network and I don't want to create a second wide open wireless network.

All wireless routers come with wired ports also, so speed for your currently-wired machines is not an issue.

That's about the only reason why I'd get the USB dongle... but I use 26 character WEP encryption for when I want to play and unplug/disconnect everything else.

do 3rd party dongles even work? Cuz shaving off 20 dollars off a dongle would be pretty good. Since a wifi connector shouldn't cost 40 bucks--50 bucks with tax.

Does anyone know if all wifi connectors work?

I had a wired router so I picked up the $11 wireless access point a while back when it was posted here on CAG. Works like a charm. As for the game I play online the most its probably Tetris DS.

I use the Linksys WRT54G as a wireless access point on my wired LAN. Overkill I know, but my office has a ton of them for staff's home use.
