Dual Shock 3 - April 2008 MSRP $54.95

ill wait till i find a deal on this. thas like buying another game, and thanks to this site never pay retail. lol

Got my white Dual Shock 3 today from a seller on ebay for around 57 shipped with priority. The DS3 works great on Burnout Paradise. Good purchase if you are like me and love that game.

Definately going to get me one of these. Imagine COD4 and Resistance, also uncharted, with rumble. I simply cant wait for this! sure its pricey, but you must pay a lot for the good stuff
Does anyone have a list of DS3 compatible games as of right now? I know I saw this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now.
This list is a bit old but it's all I could find.

Man. I feel like I'm getting raped every time I buy a gaming accessory. 60 bones is a lot for a controller, but I guess I have to take the hit.
amazon will sell it for 50 or 45 just watch.
Amazon has it listed at 49.99 .. I was tempted to just wait for this one, but I'll probably end up getting it from playasia for MLB08.

Pulled the trigger on importing a silver DS3 from PA :D Only thing I'll not like (but truthfully will barely notice) is that aesthetically, it would look a million times better if they kept the writing and X O square triangle buttons to a matching black and silver theme rather than blue writing and the classic symbol colors.

I know there will be deals once it hits the US, but with the $5 play asia coupon a fellow CAG was kind enough to share to everyone, it's the same price to buy now and in the different colors.

But.. the point of my post. Can this thread be linked in with the "Official Hardware, Software, ect..." sticky?
I am not worried about $5 more than what it was and the price of a 360 controller. And it is still better than getting a combo for the Wii. :bouncy:
most places sell a 360 controller for $40 now.
most places sell a 360 controller for $40 now.
We should wait 2 years for a price drop? That's no fun.

I just got my white controller the other day and I charged it and connected it last night to try it out with MotorStorm. I could not get the rumble in the controller working. Is there a specific way to get it to work with the game. I checked the options but came up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the game might need to be updated through the in-game online menu.

Rumble is back with the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller for PLAYSTATION 3. These are shipping to store shelves as we speak, so be on the lookout for them next week. Now I know that the list of compatible games is the most important thing to you, so we’re including that at the bottom of this post. The titles with an asterisk in the list below will require a patch in order to activate the rumble feature. The patch will automatically download to your PS3 if your console is connected online. If you are not connected online, check our PlayStation Knowledge Center for more information.

We will be launching a web page on the PlayStation website later this morning dedicated to informing you of what titles use force feedback. This list will be expanding as new titles become compatible, so be sure to be sure to check back. You can also keep an eye out for this icon:

DUALSHOCK 3 compatible

This will be located on all new software releases that are DUALSHOCK 3 compatible.

Just to give you a small refresher course, the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller includes pressure sensors that rumble with each action. SIXAXIS technology is also included, so you can still use motion control, and the controller features Bluetooth technology for wireless gameplay. You can pick it up at any of the major retailers and at a cost $54.99 MSRP.

Here’s the complete list of titles supporting the DUALSHOCK 3 at launch:

* SCEA - Formula One Championship Edition* (PS3)
* SCEA - MotorStorm* (PS3)
* SCEA - PAIN (PSN)
* SCEA - High Velocity Bowling (PSN)
I hope there will be a good sale on these before MGS4 comes out. $55 is alot of money for a controller.
Yeah, but I'm glad we don't have to change the batteries or buy a battery separately, like other controllers.
Yeah, but I'm glad we don't have to change the batteries or buy a battery separately, like other controllers.
I'm just worried what happens when they controllers don't hold a charge anymore.

it is very simple to change the battery in them... that's if you need to and when...
Out of curiosity, why are there asterisks besides some of the titles (like Folklore) and Warhawk?
I believe that means they need to be updated in order to support the rumble feature.

I've had mine now for a few months and going through uncharted with it was a blast, as stupid as it sounds. I went through heavenly sword again to; it is amazing what rumble can do for a game.

When battery goes dead, take it apart and put a new one in it. Yeah, you can't pick up the battery at wal-mart, but you will find one online.

Sony also said that they'd start a controller replacement program once the batteries start dying, just in case you don't want to shop around for a battery and then open up the controller. Who knows how long that will take or how it will work, though.

Okay, I just wondered. They seem like good batteries, but you never know. When I heard you'd have to open up the controller and all that I counted that as one negative against them, but if they make the replacement process easy then it shouldn't be a big deal.

Plus opening the controller really isn't that hard, even though it's a major design flaw that they didn't just have a panel for battery changing.
are there going to be any deals for this?
I know it doesn't help now, but Amazon had pre-orders for $49.99+free shipping.

EDIT: Hot damn. I just checked my email, and my controller just shipped at 2:00am.

Well hooray for that. It's about bloody time that Sony finally says that they're discontinuing the SIXAXIS controllers. They'd told Stephen Totilo of MTV exactly that, adding that once the current stock runs out (estimated to be sometime during the Summer) there will be no more. Presumably this means that DualShock 3s will be made standard pack-ins when buying a PS3. Again, it's about bloody time.

Meanwhile SCEE are remaining tight lipped regarding any date for a European launch of the new rumbling controllers. We're hoping they'll hit before June, considering how big of a fan Kojima is of using the feature. There is a rumor that DualShock 3s will be hitting Europe a month from now, on May 2nd. If we hear anything more then we'll be sure to let you know.

The controller is being discontinued, SIXAXIS that is.

I got two new SIXAXIS controllers new in the pack, that I bought from black friday, so I'm hoping that amazon can hook us up with some deals for the DS3. altought, I feel compelled to get a controller for MGS4.

If you're interested in trading them, there are usually people requesting controllers in our trading forum.

IGN says that this should be shipping this week so those who are looking to get it may want to check. I need to grab that 10% off GS coupon and pick one up.

Just got a shipping notice from amazon. It'll be here on Monday. just ordered yesterday :)

I'm about to order a silver import DS3 for $58 shipped from eBay, is that as good as I'm gonna get for one of those now?
they have them at buy.com for 49.95 free shipping.
Cool! w/ Google Checkout... It's 39.95 w/free shipping! :D

Ya that's a pretty good deal. It's probably the same guy I ordered mine from. I think the $3 extra dollars are worth the different colors (although it'd probably be close to $58 in store with tax if you don't have a coupon or anything).

This is up for sale on Gamestop's site for $54.99(LINK: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=69638) and with the free shipping code SAVER(I think), that makes this $55 SHIPPED for a Dual Shock 3, which is just slightly a better deal than importing for $59.

Mind you, let's hope Sony makes up their mind and sticks with ONE controller, unlike the multiple SKU's for their systems.

The original SixAxis controller is listed as 'Not For Sale' on Gamestop's site currently. WTF, does that mean they're going to stop selling them and ship back any leftovers?
