Dumb Question (Game Saves)

A friend of mine brought his copy of guitar hero over to play the other night along with a memory card containing his game saves. The system wouldn't let us load them using my profile. I told him he should do a "profile restore" to get his profile on my system. We never tried is, but is that the way it works? Please excuse a stupid question... thanks...

Yes, saves are tied to the tag.

He should have loaded his gamertag on their too.

The most useful thing you can do with a 360 memory card is load your gamertag on it.

Just hit up gamefaqs for the "unlock everything" cheat, it won't ruin your acheivements, you just can't save.
