Dumbest Ebay Policy - 1 Gift Card at a time

This doesn't make any sense. I listed 2 gift cards. One was a $15 itunes card and the other was a $25 starbucks card and they canceled one. There is no correlation between the two, but based on ebay's policy one was canceled. Its n0t like i'm listing multiple auctions with the same gift card ex. 25 $25 starbucks cards. What the hell are they trying to prevent with this policy?

Most gift cards can be sold on eBay. To list a gift card, sellers have to make sure that:

-- Only one gift card is offered per listing.
-- Only one gift card listing is offered at a time.
-- If they have more than one account, only one gift card is listed at a time for all accounts.
-- The value of the card is $500 or less.
-- The card is already in their possession.

Am guessing there's lots of scams going on with gift cards and theyre trying to minimize it. Perhaps theyre being too strict, but sometimes its better safe than sorry

It's funny but it's probably because then they'd make more money off of you rather than you being able to sell all at the same time. That's it.

Well, this is a LOT better than their previous rule of "One per week" (which meant if you sold one on Tuesday of this week, you'd have to wait until Tuesday of next week (the 7 days started from the time the item was sold). So one at a time is a lot more reasonable.

There was a LOT of gift card fraud in the past, so they're just trying to limit that. I say it sucks, but it sucks a lot less than it could (and did). Now if you excuse me, I gotta go watch the Inauguration :)

This is immensely better. Trust me. Before you could only sell 52 a year...think about that. Now, in theory you could sell hundreds if you did buy it now (and they sell and then you relist another one). It'd be cool if you could list like 10,000 sure, but then again doing it this way means it won't be flooded by spammers and fakes, so it does make the service more useful to buyers and sellers. Less competition for sellers (one per user ensures people list only the ones they think are best for selling) and good for buyers as there will be more assurance the cards are legit.

The only thing I can think of for this policy is that it ends the practice of those sellers that would have Mystery Gift card lots. For instance they would sale "Im selling these 20 gift cards...one of them has $500 on it and the rest have at least $5 on them." it was a form of gambling, almost.

Jousley, I'm not entirely sure as I think mystery auctions are still allowed. It may be true though that gift cards can't be specifically sold this way, but the seller could still sell multiple items and have ONE of them be a $500 gift card. I think that'd still within the rules. I've always wanted to make a mystery auction but never had taken the time to get it all set up. Seems a bit tricky to do correctly.

I didn't know they had a limit before. But now that you mention it it does sound a lot better. Assuming you could list as many as you want using buy-it-now.

I never did understand why those mystery boxes went up to hundreds of dollars.
