I dislike the idea of UV codes being part of the Rewards program. I'm desperate for Disney to get with the program and allow their stuff to be UV-compatible, but not if I've gotta blow points earned from buying stuff when such a code could, like elsewhere, be included as part of the purchased package. Takes the fun out of saving up for the occasional freebie BR/DVD or slightly-oversized wall poster (ever notice that? --their movie posters are a few inches bigger than standard editions). Not to mention there are a lot of Disney DVDs and Blu-rays that don't include Rewards at all, like the big TV show sets.Anyone who reads this let Disney know (when possible) that digital copies of movies (vudu or iTunes) would be a great reward for DMR points! If enough people request digital movies as rewards maybe Disney will listen.
Imagine if your Disney Movies Anywhere library (y'know, the stuff that doesn't play anywhere because it's incompatible with just about everything) only grew when you spent the points that came with the movie on it. perpetually keeping you from using them on anything else. Not fun. It's bad enough that only a fraction of Disney purchases go in there, anyway, although you'll still often get an iTunes copy when they don't.
On the bright side, with the inclusion of a UV-compatible code in the 3D version of Winter Soldier, as well as a few previous releases (Thor 2 and Iron Man 3, for example), it looks like they haven't completely given up on the idea. We may be in rocking chairs and gumming our food by the time it happens, but I do believe that eventually Disney will adopt UltraViolet as a standard digital venue.
