Kind off off-topic but does anybody know why some movies come up as "Promo/Own" and some movies just say "Own" when you look up your account history on Vudu? Is there a difference between the two?

From my experience, it looks like "Promo/Own" are the ones where you've entered digital codes from either the VUDU site or the redemption site, whereas the ones that show up as "OWN" were the items that I had redeemed from other sites like Flickster or had purchased from CinemaNow.

Can I put those in my Ultraviolet locker somehow? Are they tradeable/sellable here or are they linked to my email? I don't feel like using a new service in the least, but if I can attach them to UV and watch them in VUDU or Flixster then I could see maybe redeeming them.

Most of them you can if you search the movie on cinemanow and it have the UV symbol then you'll get the rights to it, check vudu make sure the movie shows up there and then you should be able to watch it. I think there is only one movie I own on cinemanow that doesn't show up on vudu.

What happens if you return the movie unopened, do you get to keep the UV code ?

The codes will not be linked to you unless you redeem them via Flixster, Vudu, CinemaNow. If you have a CinemaNow account you could check to see if the license is auto applied to your account, but unless one of those 3 services is linked to UVVU.COM your movie would not be included in any digital locker. Once the code is applied to a service it is no longer tradeable. I'm really curious however as I wonder if the code is also included in the packaging, which is normally where the code is found.

Best Buy tracks the number of returns you do through a 3rd party system and if they see an anomaly they ban you

I experienced the same issue. What I did was open a ticket on their support page. I included a screen capture of the movie display page (you will have to log out of your account first) including the UV symbol. Then, I included a screen capture of the CinemaNow list on Dropbox (link attached below). I currently have six support tickets open. Since I have documented proof, they're going to have to fix the issue no matter how much they grumble or how long it takes. I suggest that you employ a similar strategy. Eventually, they will develop a "Make the problem go away" solution so keep hammering on them.

I opened trouble tickets. After the first phone call the guy closed it as "resolved". I responded and re-opened since for sure was not resolved.
Another call the guy removed the first movie it happened with and said he would send a credit which I never received.
After it happened with the next three I called and the rep asked for my log in and password so he could look at the issue. He used MY credit and charged me again for the deleted movie which he had put back on my account.
I logged in after he checked out the issue and saw I was charged for the movie again. The rep then sent me a code for a free HD movie. He denied at first that he charged me then he looked at my account again and saw that he had. Makes you wonder how often this happens.
I too have sent screen shots showing they were UVVU and more showing in my account they are not.
I hope people are aware that when they ask for your log in and password - this is the same log-in and password to your BestBuy.com account. Seems unsafe to be giving out your password to both...

I was told something about licensing, but the insert inside of House at the End of the Street says view on iPad, iPhone or Apple TV and I redeemed it the day of release. I redeemed Taken 2 yesterday and it appeared in the cloud then disappeared almost immediately. When I looked later it was back.
All of these are Fox titles with the exception of Dick Tracy, which has completely disappeared from the iTunes store all together. I emailed Fox Digital copy support and haven't received a reply and can't get through on the phone.
I do back up my digital copies onto a hard drive. Home sharing from my Mac Book Pro sucks though. It takes forever to start. I can put the movie on my iPad and it plays from there almost immediately.
Will take an offer for all digital copies too.
