DVD Burners?

Any good deals for DVD burners for the PC?
An approximate price range, just curious.

IMO one of the best all around burners.

$63 shipped is a great deal. Its a few bucks more for the beige version.

You can get them for 40-50 in stores after 75 or so in rebates. I ing hate rebates.

Yeah, go with the NewEgg deal....either get the NEC-3500 or the Pioneer DVR-108

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a NEC for Xmas, since I only have a 4X right now.

I can vouch for the NEC drive as well. I got one a while back and it's awesome. Thats a great price.

The Benq 1620 drive is about the same price and is just as good a burner if not better in some areas.

I would only get the 3500a if you mostly burn DVD-R/-RW media however.

I was looking into DVD burners, but I'm not sure if they do what I'm thinking exactly. If I buy a movie on DVD, can I copy it exactly as is to send with my GF to college. I mean will it include the menu, extras, etc.

Yeah, you can use software like DVDXCOPY to do that.

Use DVDShrink for that,...its free and from my experiance the best out there...I've done hundreds this way. All personally owned, of course! ;-)

Read this and this will get you started....it doesnt take to long to set-up DVDshrink and once its set you can just put them in a click rip...

All this can be also done with the 3500A as I do it myself. Many utilities exist to change the bit setting on the fly. My NEC3500A burns 8x on 4x media (ridata) and 12x on 8x media (also ridata). If you use low quality media, you will get low quality results, as is the case with any DVD burner, not just the NEC. I burn DVD+R media without a hitch.

As far as software goes, you guys should look at DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter. Both are free and work well.
