dvd to psp

so i was looking around on ebay for a psp and one of the things was dvd-psp. it said it converts your dvds so you can play them on psp.. does anyone have this/know if it works?
 
Is it some kind of device or just software? You can download software for free to convert dvds into a file that will fit on a large memory stick duo and can be read by the psp. I am not sure where but just do a google search, no need to buy something when you don't have to.
 
o yea, i wasnt planning on buying it, just seeing if it was worth downloading. i wonder how big it makes the files, cause i have a 1gb memory stick pro for my digital camera..
 
At dvd quality you can get a 2 hr movie around 600mb, so a 1 gig card would be enough.

Use PSPvideo9, best free software out there. Or, if you want to wait 3 days, get PSPadvance, it plays avi/mpeg/wmv without converting, the UMD version is only $9.99.
 
how does psp advance work? is it for psp or the puter? i dont even have a psp yet, im tryin to see if i should get one
 
It comes with a program for the PSP (that you can use to play the movie files, download movies/music videos/mp3s, etc. Or if you cant connect your PSP to wifi, you can use the computer to download the stuff, then transfer to the PSP.

Im not sure how well it works, but it comes out on the 9th, so im sure we'll hear soon.
