I have a DVR that I use quite a bit, but I was wondering if there was a device that I could take some of those videos and put them on a disc for later viewing.

you can get a standalone DVD recorder .. they even have them at wal-mart (ILO brand is around $150).
I just ordered this Samsung VCR/DVD writer combo when it was on sale for $250 (gone up now)..

I have a standalone dvd recorder, just hook up the DVR device to it and record onto dvds... my tivo only has 35 hours of recording space so getting this was a top priority with me last year... works basically like a VCR... except with the DVR features, it is easy to edit out commercials
My Tivo had 70hrs, then I put in a 300gig drive.. 
My tivo was one reason I ordered a dvd writer, but I got the samsung because it had DV inputs as well. I can download video from my camera on my computer and burn it, but this will make things easier, especially for my wife..

If your DVR has a eithernet jack on the back then hook it up to your network. Then just transfer the files from your DVR to your PC. Use a nice tool like MPEG-VCR to edit out commercials then author with a software package like TMPEG DVD Author. Once that is done then just burn to a DVD. Takes a little more work but you'll get the best quality using the method I just described.

The current Comcast DVRs are horrible from Motorola, I had 1 for like 3 days before I laughed at the cable company and brought it back. I network 3 TIVOs and move shows around the house and we can use TIVOTOGO to burn the shows that we like to DVD for later viewing. Comcast and TIVO have made an agreement but I have heard that it will take until 2006-2007 before the rollout begins with Comcast Tivos. I have a feeling that the Comcast Tivos will be a lot like Directv Tivos, they look like Tivo, act like Tivo but you don't get all of the features of Tivo.

My DVR doesnt have an ethernet cable hookup on the back, but does have a usb port.
