Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 Thread - Gen Discussion & Info

^ You're right, I just found it.

I got my Burning Gundam leveled up pretty high. Good enough to beat the fighting tournament. Mission's are a breeze now. Bitches don't know about my Burning Finger.

^ Yeah it is, with the whole "friendship" thing was unexpected. You seem to make more eneimes than friends since you fight againsts more pilots than you have on your team (And I try to take every enemy down). I got approched by the Titans to join their ranks, so I did and now have special missions with them.

I got a little pissed while fighting a giant Gundam bosses today. Once you get their life around 1/4 they start up this big blast attack. It's difficult to get near them cause the radious of the blast is wide & quick, plus my Gundam wasn't leveled up enough, one hit would almost kill me. The problem was he kept doing it non-stop. I couldn't get near them. For the icing on the cake I couldn't let Quattro or Amaruo die, and the idiots kept getting hit by the blast. Took me 3 tries to beat the mission. Pain in the ass.

I mentioned that problem with the big bosses in the thread for the PS3 version. Amuro kept getting killed by Four, and it was a bit annoying. I don't have a problem with myself getting killed since I just wait out the big attack. It's my partners that get in trouble.

Friendship isn't too hard to handle. Just have to do those friendship missions. I'm currently picking up licenses. I want to get my Z Gundam license! I also joined the Titans. I'll refuse them in my next playthrough.

Maybe I'll head over to the PS3 thread since everyone seems to have gotten that version.

My second playtrough will be with Jerid and it would have been fitting to have him join the Titans.

Rei or anyone else playing: Any tips on fighting big bosses? I normally don't have a problem with them other than it takes me a long time to kill them. I feel like I'm missing something. Even after I knock them down and target were the arrows tell me to I still feel like I'm doing very little damage even with a supped up Gundam and pulling off a level 3 SP attack.

I played some versus online last night with my brother and I hate all 3 modes. Here's a quick review of it:

War Mode - The best of the three but it still isn't much fun. You'd think this mode would be the way the main game normally plays such as each player has their army and your goal is to control the field. That would've been good but nope. The computer randomly gives you tasks like "Kill 20 Enimies" or "Kill Amaro" which you have complete within a certian amount of time. It also gives you certian advantages or disadvantages randomly like "Infinate Thrust" or "Power Down." After about 20 minutes I had enough.

Death Match Mode - A 4-player vs were you die in like 2-3 hits, respawn, die, respawn, die. Oh and no thrusters either so if someone respawns behind you you're dead... lame

Hunter & Target Mode - I didn't try this one it sounded so un-fun. One group is the Hunters and your job is to kill the Targets. After a some time you swtch roles.

I don't really have any trouble with the big guys unless they kill someone I need to keep alive.

Basically I just constantly hit them with that charge attack where you hold square, then hit them with a SP attack knocking them over. Combo until they get back up. Just repeat that until they die.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I do. Like you I don't have much trouble with them unless they kill someone I need to keep alive. I only ask cause last night I was playing with Gundam Wing Zero, I knocked down a big boss and did a level 3 team-up SP attack. He initially spins around shooting lasers... nothing special. Then he ends it by spinning more at an angle, when he did that I was taking off huge chunks of life I've never seen before. It took off about 75% of his life and I was playing on Normal.

It got me thinking maybe there's a more vulnurable part. I started attacking from above, but with no improvment. So what the hell was I hitting that caused so much damage?

Anyone have problems with Seabook's final story event? You have to beat the Dark Gundam while Master Asia is running around trying to kill you. Problem is Master Asia keeps regenerating health until you destroy the Dark Gundam. I actually had to set it on easy for this one.

Been enjoying it so far. I am nearing 70 hours in already. Got all the licenses and mobile suits. Still working on getting everyone friendly despite having done many dozens of friendship missions. The extra missions are NASTY though.

Definitely a big improvement on the first with all the extra stuff, except for the "simon" game when you weapons clash. God I hate that in ANY game but in this particularly it interrupts the action for me.

Much farther along than me. I agree with the extra missions. I got Domon to level 32 with the Burning Gundam maxed out w/ class 3 Parts and still get my ass handed to me.

So Rei I started watching Zeta Gundam and I'm very impressed. I can't believe this came out in 1985 when I was 4 years old. Did they ever air this on TV in the states? I have a feeling if I watched this when I was younger I would've been a much bigger Gundam fan as an adult.

Z Gundam never came on TV in the US. Sadly UC Gundam doesn't do well here. All people care about in the US is shit like Wing and SEED.

If you like Zeta I highly recommend you go back and check out the original, which Zeta is a direct sequel to. Then make your way through the UC timeline. And yes, it is amazing that shows like Mobile Suit Gundam came out in 1979 and to this day very few anime have come close to its greatness.

If it never came out on TV then when did Zeta get an English dub? Was it done after Wing hit it big and everyone scrambled to get more Gundam anything?

I remember when Toonami started airing the orginal MS series. I don't think it lasted too long. Shame. I wish there was a channel that would air some older anime at not some good awful time like 5pm in the morning. Everytime Cartoon Network puts something I like on air they take it off within a week and replace it with Cowboy Bepop or FLCL for the hundreth time.

Zeta was released on DVD, but never on TV. Most anime in the US is dubbed that way. A very small percentage ever airs on television. Zeta didn't come out here for awhile, in fact for quite some time most of us assumed it never would. We still haven't gotten ZZ or V...

I wonder if we'll ever get ZZ or V considering Zeta dropped in price like a rock. It came out in that super limited box set which started out pretty expensive. Before long I was seeing it at cons for 20-30. It's too bad since Zeta is great.

Zeta is also my favorite MS so far in the game. It's got speed, transforming and is great at both clearing a room or taking out aces. Swings the beam saber very fast too. Too bad I never get to use it since I'm using crap suits trying to get my last 2 skills on Amuro.

I'm not sure if I have one favorite, but if I must pick I guess it'll have to be the Burning Gundam since I've spent the most time with it. And I know it's supposed to be one of the better ones but I don't really like the Nu Gundam, it just doesn't have 1 really good crowd control move. Zeta & ZZ are both fun and I've grown a liking to Master Gundam and the Titan's MK-II.

I went to my local comic book shop and they have a ton of those model Gundams. They had the Black Titan MK-II for $50. I've been thinking about picking it up but $50 is pretty costly. Anyone know a website that sells em' on the cheap?

UC continuity is the only one worth watching, IMO; somebody on pg1 said something like "I'm not a Gundam fan, but I did like G-Gundam." What an atrocity. Surely I'm not the only one who's been disappointed by DW:G twice by the exclusion of the 08th Team?

^ Ha, that was me. Up until I started playing the game The Gundam storyline always confused me. It was a little intimidating to get into. Since G Gundam was it's own self contained plot it was easy to follow. But now that I understand more about the series I agree that the UC continuity is the best story. I still like G Gundam. But I haven't really watched much of any Gundam so don't take my opinions too seriously.

Just got this on saturday after completely forgetting about it. Great game, though I didnt like the inlcusion of the NXE update on the disc. Also the game has randomly frozen on video sequences twice, which is odd. I know it isnt my system, cause you can here the game still going through w/e sequence it was going through at some point, but you see where you are stuck. For example in Amuro's official mode fighting the giant MS in space it froze while explaining the weakness of it and stuff, but I kept hearing the accompanying dialogue to it.

Anyone ever had that problem? Seems weird for such a great game. Also how the heck can I get used to the NU Gundam easily? I been going through Chars counter attack, and I cant get used to the hand to hand style it employs when you dash attack, and as a result I subsequently take much more damage than I did with the normal Gundam. It's easy performing the dash attacks dont get me wrong, but the enemies really give me a beating for it.

Never had that problem with the cutscenes and I'm already 70+ hours in.

Despite it having fairly high stats I'm not a big fan of the Nu Gundam, so I can't help you much. I couldn't find a good set of moves to spam. I mainly used his spread shot for crowd control, but the shots are so thin. You'd think the barrier would be a nice unique move but it's so annoying. I couldn't wait to beat Amuro's Story Missions because of the Nu Gundam. Other Gundams I did care for were Char's final Gundam the Sazabi & Milliardo's Epyon.

I'd say try hlj.com. I used to order from them quite a bit but haven't bought models in years. They used to be pretty well priced though. Amenbo used to be very good as well but their english site has been down a long time.

I can see why you wouldnt be a big fan of Nu Gundam. I mean I honestly can, cause too many things you can do with it actually leave you exposed to attack, save for the barrier of course. Also it's hand to hand combat when dashing limits its range if you try to change direction and get an enemy in an opposing direction than you.

Also with the dash attacks on Nu Gundam it seems you're definitely more prone to being attacked cause you're not dashing still when it slows down to deliver the blows to the enemy. Whereas with Gundam you can swoop right on in and slash, and still be in mid dash after the attack and change direction practically on a dime and get a few more shots in on enemy units.

Anyways I dont know. I guess from what I've experienced is that rising above the enemies and firing down on them may be the best strategy since few tend to follow you that way. I also havent tried the charge up attack either so I'll have to give that a shot next time I play the game.

Alright guys I'm almost done with DW:G2 for the moment. After I get all the Skills & Licenses for Domon I think that's it for a while. I'm feeling burnt out after about 80 hours. I'm sure I'll come back to it in a few months but for now I'm spent.

^ Unless they hold some kind of significance with story or achievements I doubt you'll ever find the need to download more missions, there's already more than enough in the game itself. Trust me there's too much stuff to do in this game.

I played 2 of the 3 already and it's just fighting 3 giant bosses in a row. Nothing special.

Guys,

Can someone please explain to me how the Mech Lab works? It always says I don't have any parts any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
