E for All Expo - Show Pics Up - Playable MGS4 (No PSN Demo coming) and SSBB
I'd travel all the way there to play MGS4...then again, nah, I wouldn't.

I'd like to think I would though
I would haul ass there to play Brawl as Sonic. Sadly, it sounds like Sakurai is against the idea of Sonic being one of the playable characters.
is there one day price?!?!?!

all the quotes are for 2 days... and no matter how dope it is I'll still get bored in a few hours,

but I'll still be glad I went
indeed, I just noticed

Currently at E-for-All in the media room. No food like E3 =(.

Anyway it's been pretty empty compared to E3, but then again maybe that's because it's more geared towards the consumer and everyone works/goes to school today. We'll see if things pick up over the weekend.

But yeah, if you live in the area and really want to try out the games, this will be much better than E3 due to the lack of crowds if everything remains the same. Great chance to play MGS4

Your not exactly selling it for me, I think im gonna pass even though its only a lil over an hour from here.

Damn you "E For All"

The Rock Band Tour was supposed to be at San Francisco State University the next 2 days.

Looks like the dates are cancelled and instead the tour will be at "E For All"

yeah I just got a good amount of quality time with Rockband. Not many people here today so got to play over and over, same with guitar hero 3. After trying both it looks like Rockband is clearly the better deal with the entire package. Granted Guitar hero 3 only has 5 songs shown here, but despite things I heard before, the rock band controller is far better than the guitar hero 3 one.

Still haven't tried MGs4, but played a bit of smash bros and it was quite fun. It really sucks on the wiimote though because of the lack of analog, so make sure you get a gamecube controller ready if you plan to play it. Graphics are noticeably better than melee.

Well the show is winding down. Looks like it was pretty uncrowded for most of the day. Booth babes were mainly present in Nintendo's area. Probably 80% of the entire boothbabes were there actually and like 10% in the Fatal1ty Booth. Kind of suprising to me considering there here to woo the masses.

Guitar Hero 3 has a massive presence here, but I found the game rather disappointing compared to Rock band in both peripherals and gameplay. The biggest problem with Rockband is that it's sometimes hard to see if you hit notes since the effect is subtle. Bottom line, if you're going to only buy one and even if you're on the budget, Rockband is the way to go. And if you already have a GH controller for PS2, it isn't worth it to pay the nextgen price for the new guitar. just buy GHIII on ps2.

as for MGS4, it takes awhile to get into the booth because they run everyone through a quick orientation. fortunately there aren't actors who run it like bootcamp like they did at TGS. The actual game is quite amusing and it really still does feel like MGS even with the new control scheme. In the end 15 mins just isn't enough to get through the demo at all. But if they let you play for longer, you'd wait for hours, even if the line was short since they only have 12 kiosks.

Other than these titles, there just isn't much else here. That's rather dissapointing since you can only buy passes in 2 day increments. The show is probably worth it to go one day, but for all 4.... that's kind of stretching it. Unless you're really into the MGL tournament stuff. And they've got quite a large setup here for tournaments.

And if you want to play drums in rockband, play it at the EA booth. At the Rockband booth, the drummer seat is way too low making the bass pedal a pain in the arse.

If the crowds are coming, it's gonna be on the weekend for sure. I can imagine a flood of casual gamers coming in. The only reason that's not gonna happen is if the 2 day minimum deters them, which is quite possible. But for now, it's rather relaxing to not have to wade through a sea of people like E3 or TGS.

And Jekki, Dig Jelly is here as a booth babe so you can get your hands all over that

E For All is the biggest flop since the PS3.

There's NOTHING to do after you play each game 20 times. I'll upload my "ghost town" pics tomorrow morning.

The show was really empty, I was surprised. Fun, but not nearly as big as the E3 of yore. I'm hoping the seminar tomorrow will be worthwhile.

Rock Band was fucking awesomesauce though. I got a video taken of me and a bunch of friends playing, I was belting out the vocals to "Dead or Alive". The booth people seemed to like the singing, so hopefully I didn't sound too bad :D I'll put the link up here once it's uploaded to their site.

the main issue with E for all isn't the lack of stuff to do. It's the fact that they force you to buy 2 days and that the expo itself is 4 days long.

for 1 day of fun, it is not too bad

I thought I won a free pass to E for All?Did anyone get PMed by CheapyMOM? I was thinking of taking my digital camera and sort of doing a halfassed coverage of the event. The Expo is like a bus ride away,so its no problem for me.Also,I wanted to request an additonal pass for my brother(another CAG).

Cheapymom PM'ed the guest codes over a week ago so if you didnt get it by now you didnt make the cut most likely.

As a gamer who was gone to quite a few e3s beforehand, yes this is quite small, but thursday lines were not bad at all. It is definitely not as glitzy as e3 but at least you could play games easily for today at least. I got to play smash bros after like 15 minutes of waiting which wasnt so bad. Nintendo had a decent amount of swag which included

blue wii shirt that only comes in xl :bomb:
Wiimote keycahin that was given away with big brain academy wii
Donkey Kong red tie out of foam material

I also picked up a free plush dewy from dewys adventure at the konami booth. The producer of Dewy's Adventure and Elebits, Mukaitoge was there signing autographs and signed my plush.

Tomorrow U1-Asami prodcure of DDR hottest Party and Koji Igarashi from Castlevania will be at the konami booth signing autographs. Konami is also selling a lot of random stuff at their booth like the TGS staff shirt from the 20th anniversary of metal gear.

I really feel like the price of admission isnt worth it. Unless you feel you really need to demo the marquee games that are here as of right now i cant say its worth your cheapass dollars. Thanks again to cheapy and gamequest direct for the free cheap ass hook up.

ill wear my cheapass bracelet tomorrow so maybe ill see some other cags out there.

Heres a funny story id like to share. One of the phony and fake hired MCs at the smash bros booth told the auidence he likes playing animal crossing. Then two Smash Bros matches later Mr Restti shows up as an assist trophy and the guy didnt know who he was or what he was doing. I know this sounds fanboyish but that was pretty sad

To enter the contest you had to post here. I just checked and found your post in the thread of a CAGcast episode (91?) instead of the contest thread. When distributing the guest passes I only checked the contest thread. I'm sorry it didn't work out and that you were disappointed. I wish I had a pass to give you now but all I had were distributed.

I went to the show today and only stayed an hour. I played rock band, GH III, watched a little SSBB and Mario, then left. What a disappointment.

Stay away from the MLG booth babes. You'll get an STD just from walking by them.

As promised, me acting like a jackass.

I look bloody goofy, but that's the entire point of this game. I really wish that it had the entire performance as a video, but oh well.

Went today, played lots of Brawl, and waited in line for about 3 hours for MGS4, other than those two things there wasn't much there to do. It was cool and I would definitely go again if more companies sign up for it next time, but I don't see it going past 3 years. I wore my CAG bracelet, but I guess no one saw me and I didn't see anyone.

I had fun and I would do it again, thanks CAG and GQD.

Yes, E 4 All was small... but I enjoyed it!

LOVED MGS4 and Super Mario Galaxy... x 10000000...

I didn't play that many games there, just checked it out... I think I'm going on Saturday too...

Glad I got to meet/see Igarashi (Castlevania) and Asami (Bemani series creator)...
if you want to play rockband, make sure to play on the stage. They give you various schwag

Hat/Drumsticks/shirt
I played early in the day on stage (front & center, where you have to sign the waiver) and got nothing, so YMMV.

if they don't give you anything, just ask the guy up front.
1up had a pretty good giveaway today, really dirty game of white elephant ;)

I went through everything there was to see yesterday. I saw the Destructoid crew making quite a show at the Rock Band stage but was too shy to give a "OH SHI-!" at least.

I'm kind of glad I passed on this despite having my pass mailed to me weeks ago. It sounds like aside from three or four games there's not much I missed out on. Although, I would've liked some of that swag. Ah well.
