E3 Rumors
Uhm, okay. So, then why Temco make the seemingly suicidal decision to move it's two flagship titles, Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, to the Xbox, and leave the PS2 behind?
You're totally right. All that money Microsoft gave to Tecmo/Team Ninja to help develop the titles was totally a suicidal decision on Tecmo's part.

No, wait. That's the opposite of suicidal decision. They were already seeing profits without actually releasing a product. Don't kid yourself. Team Ninja didn't develop titles on the Xbox platform because it was so awesome and ultra powerful. Tecmo needed money. Microsoft had money and needed titles to draw in gamers (Back when Halo was looking like a turd, Munch was looking like an overpriced turd, and Fuzion Frenzy couldn't appeal its way out of a paper sack). It was a perfect match.

More Rare news is always welcomed. I am questioning that they'd announce so many new projects however. The Battlefront 3 rumor has been drifting around for a while. If it is a 360 exclusive, I'd expect any sort of single player campaign to be scrapped in favor of the mutliplayer experience. Though, Lucas won't turn down the potential money from other console sales.
From another board

Xbox 360 and Microsoft Rumours for E3'07:

- New Crimson Skies game to be announced.
- Bungie working on new title/series not related to anything in the Halo/Marathon Universe.
- Microsoft have bought the Star Wars Battlefront 3 rights. Trailer/Demo to be shown.
- Rare to show off Banjo Kazooie 3 (Banjo-Theerie).
- Rare to announce 2 new games.
- Rare to announce Kameo 2.

From an E3 Floor Manager supposedly.
SWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttt

The RARE news is awesome...and they have the most rumoured new titles which is even better. Battlefront games are quite fun, Bungie makes good games...and thats more than I need and way more than I expected xD

good point...I didn't know they were getting fully funded by MS.

I REALLY hope the Rare news is true, Banjo 3 has to make some appearance, and I definitely want to see Kameo 2. As for the other 2 Rare games, there was a rumor of a Viva Pinata kart racer, which could be fun, as well as another rumour about a sequel to Perfect Dark Zero. However, I would also like to see a new project for Rare, or Jet Force Gemini come back.
Dead Rising 2, set in a Disney World style amusement park, please.
I actually want the 50 states scenario to play out... if it does, hope it's orlando.
Ah, yes, and with some new stages starring stupid Rachel, and some Shenmue style playable cinematics, et cetera. I forgot.

Poor Apossum, he's upset that NG2 probably isn't going to be on PS3.
Apossum, You might want to get some medical attention for that SICK BURN !!!!!

When it comes down to it the story between NG and NGS is.... wait for it..... THE SAME... its like Spiderman 3 on the PS2 and spidey 3 on the xbox360, same damn gameplay. I ask myself why did I waste my money on NGS when NGB is just as damn good, its like the whole damn Zelda franchise before LOZ:TP (And I guess windwaker), guess who you fight at the end.....?!?!?

So far i have to say i am sorely unimpressed with my PS3 purchase, if it weren't for the satisfaction of kicking my friend's asses at VF5 i would sell it... waiting for E3:Media suckfest to make the final decision

This thread inspired me to go back and finally finish off Kameo. I had gotten distracted by other things and it sat, sadly, waiting for me to finish it. I did, good times.

Ninja Gaiden has a story? :whistle2:s

waiting until july 11 is just torture... even though it's just information on how long we'll have to wait for other things.

 good point. I guess this spices up the usual summer drought of information instead of interrupting finals, which is nice.
I hope these are more than just fanboy fodder. Microsoft has been pretty quiet lately while Nintendo is eating up NPD numbers and Sony quieted a lot of critics with their Gamers Day a few weeks ago.

Of all the bullets above, the one that gets me most excited is Kameo 2. I think it's the most underrated game in the 360 lineup. It's a solid platformer that made me think back to the N64 days when Rare actually made games, and good ones at that. I loved it, I don't see the hate, and I'm glad that franchise is getting a second chance.
Exactly. It all looked promising but then it got interesting when I saw Kameo 2. I'm on the same page as you. Very underrated game.

So Kameo 2 and Dead Rising 2 are the two I'm most excited about on that list.

Love the rumored Rare news. Here's what I'd like to see:

Banjo Threeie: cut back on the collecting
Blast Corps. on the XBLA!
Jet Force Gemini 2
Viva Pinata DS
Kameo 2

ya ughhh I can hardly wait now for this thing...I wasnt even interested a few days ago.
What I'd like to see is
Kameo 2,
Banjo 3 release date+in game vid
Jet Force Gemini 2
DK64 SEQUEL if possible lol...dont think so though. I'd actually like to see a platformer with the conker as I first knew him from Diddy Kong Racing....(though I know this won't happen)

If I got all that I'd run around the city 10x

Been waiting for some banjo news since the original trailer last year. Cant wait for E3 this year, its like the best 3 days for any gamer every year. The keynotes are really what makes them interesting.

wow, I am very impressed with Capcom's support for this game. This makes me want to re-buy it for multiplayer.

if they make a new one, they need to chill out on the "falling over" animation.

Am I the only person that saw the perfectly good logic behind the falling over animation?

go play some monster hunter and it'll probably make sense in terms of balance.

it creates balance, but it feels cheap and happens way too often. It seems more intrusive than it does in MH (which at least gives you an option to block.)

Conker as he was in DKR was made into a game(besides Pocket Tales), as Conker Twelve Tales as seen here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=sJ6TAHWegR0&mode=related&search . However, Rare had wanted to reach to a different audience instead of just making another kiddy game (already with Banjo and Donkey Kong). And yea, DK64 won't get a sequel, and if it somehow does, it cannot be by Rare if it is for a console, however Rare could make a DS game again.

darn ya I wanted a platformer...I remember hearing of a conkers quest at one point and was really excited about it. Maybe it was turned into twelve tales?...but twelve tales wasn't released, was it?

Anyway they wouldn't have to make it "kiddy"...I don't find a drunken/bloody squirrel with squirrel parts flying all over fun. But oh well at least Banjo is still normal xD

Viva was great. Kameo was great. PD0 was ass. 2/3 is pretty good.

Of course that is just for full 360 retail releases. Plus their back catalog gives them a few free passes. People are excited and anxious to see Rare to return to form. They are/were the only company who used to be as consistent as Nintendo. Which is why they were a perfect match.

I can agree on that... capcom should also focus on Lost Planet Hunter... kill planets and wear them as trophies!

I think Dead Rising, if there is a sequel, screams for two things:

1) Episodic content
2) Co-op (combo attacks anyone?)

Loved Kameo, hope for a sequel. But damn if we don't need some killer instinct. Shit, it doesn't even have to be a fighter. Give us a killer instinct garden growing game, and I know wit will be good.

And to be fair, the multi player on PD0 was excellent. Which almost... ALMOST redeems the single player experience.
And to be fair, the multi player on PD0 was excellent. Which almost... ALMOST redeems the single player experience.
Excellent? The game, in every aspect, was terrible. Multiplayer, you had to shoot every damn piece of armor off a guy before he even started taking damage. You could stand behind someone, load an entire magazine into his back, reload (the reload animations are the longest in FPS history), then shoot him again, then, MAYBE, you killed him.

I wouldn't say excellent, but it was certainly decent, even if Counter-Strike did it better.
There was a rumor that DR2 would be set in Vegas...Theme Park would be nice though
I had an idea for DR2; namely that it would be set in an entire CITY, rather than just a mall.

Oh NO! You had to shoot the ARMOR off of him?! God, what a shitty game!

I call bullshit. :bs:
There is no chance in hell an "E3 Floor Manager" would have any idea what Microsoft would be announcing at their press conference, which isn't even held at Barker Hanger (the E3 floor).
