E3 Thread

I liked how Sony had a lot of games, but I was sort of bored it places, like with the home parts.
Most of the games I want on PS3 are also coming out on the 360, and the exclusives I do want (Final Fantasy VS XIII, Lair, LA Noir and Heavy Rain) they didn't show.

I wrote them down as they came up on the display.

By my count, MS showed 3 RPGs: Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey.

I only saw Folklore from Sony, despite that all know there are a lot more than that.

Well, they didn't make my decision for me, but at least they didn't make me not want a PS3. Needs more diversity (i.e. RPGs). The lack of previously-unannounced games across all three conferences was quite a downer.

Would of given Sony an A if they showed more Demonstrations (Uncharted) and Confirm rumble controller and give like a Symbol of some big Title (God of War 3).

(white knight story is what i want, and Eternal Sonata coming to PS3 as well)
I'm sorry but Sony killed Microsoft when it comes to new IP announcements. The "me too" section of the PS3 conference had me doubting but the last third was a Sony knockout.

Just drop the 60 Gig to $399, Sony, and we have a deal. ;)
Honestly, it wasn't that great, they focused on Sony Myspace...not interesting at all. Infamous, Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, now those looked great!

MS showed a lot of titles that we were aware of, but they are all solid titles. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Lost Odiseey, Blue Dragon, XBLA Montage, all good stuff, not new but all good stuff.
Conference was Shit. Worse than M$. Nintendo Won hands down.
It really is hard to fathom just how much a Nintendo fanboy you are.

Even Dr. Mario Kart gave them a C. and Sony a B.
Surprised me!
I think that some of the dev companies now have their own events?

Almost nothing Final Fantasy related here at Sony's.
Nintendo mentioned DQ Swords briefly. I don't know if Square has another conference now, they just had their party a couple months ago.

Come on Scrub. Even I know when to not be partisan. That was fairly competent. Just info, and aside from the Wookie, low on the unncessary theatrics

Sony > All. They owned Nintendo and MS so badly this E3 that I can't stop laughing so hard.

New PSP model FTW!! I'll be buying it on day one for sure. I don't need another copy of Daxter, but oh well. Output the screen to the TV = OMG!!.

The PS3 showing was very impressive too. Only thing I wanted to see, but didn't was Firmware upgrade 2.0. :(

Anyone who saws Sony didn't win is NOT a real gamer. ;)

I hope you're just being sarcastic, and don't really think a Roll n' Rocker accessory from Nintendo stole the show.

There was also video of FFT for the PSP.

Just read 'ol scrubby's blog to get an insight on what he thinks of Sony.

And I do have to hand it to DMK, didn't expect those ratings out of him.
There was also video of FFT for the PSP.
True, but you couldn't see it. Like every other PSP video.

Echochrome and especially Infamous looked hot. I'm terrible at first/third person shooters so I can't say I'm all that excited about Killzone or UT3. I wonder if Square-Enix has something big cooked up for TGS - strange that their only presence at E3 is portable games. Neither Microsoft nor Sony even showed a clip of The Last Remnant, for example.

Hmm, neither MS nor Sony mentioned GHIII. Either way, Sony had the best, with Nintendo and MS behind them.

Sony: B+
Nintendo: C+
Microsoft: C

Sony kept a good pace going through the show while showing games or making announcements (glad they got rid of their standard powerpoint presentations), for the most part, while MS had tons of awkward moments, while Nintendo was all about bragging about their numbers and youtube videos.

Not to mention that everything shone at the M$ conference (aside from RE5) is coming this THIS year, while I'm sure everything Sony showed (aside from maybe one of them) are all coming next year or even later.

All I care about is the next coming months, M$ showed that their system is where I'm going to most of my gaming from.

Also DR. Mario Kart, you forgot Mass Effect for the 360.

Yeh guys, thats why I said "ALMOST nothing FF". :)

Also I noticed that Sony didn't mention the Sixaxis at all...

And where was the last of the PS2 games??

Microsoft "We have all the top selling franchises on our system this year! Next year? No no, focus on this year!"

Sony "Yeaaaaa we better show some games or we're fucked"

Nintendo "Everyone loves us, even the women and the grandmas!"

I think that about sums it up ;)

Good point, I forgot about that. I guess TGS and X07 will reveal whats up for 2008.

I agree with this. While Sony had more new game announcements, MS's conference demonstrated why it's good to have a 360 now, though I would've liked to hear more about possible '08 releases. Sony's conference I thought showed that there will be compelling reasons to pick up the console in the future. They have some great 1st party delevopers, and what they're working on looks promising.

It's weird that they didn't really show off LA Noire, Lair, Heavy Rain, or Final Fantasy stuff. Especially Lair considering it's a soon to be released exclusive that at least looks pretty compelling.

Maybe the companies are holding stuff back for TGS and X07?

LMAO, right, and anyone who makes a statement like that is a Sony Fan-boy/girl through & through.

It wasn't that spectacular, and as I alluded to earlier, M$ showcased the best lineup, that was also coming sooner than Sony's. Not to mention that shit with home and GT5 AND the guy crashing through the glass made the shit M$ did in their conference seem awesome by comparison.

Ding! Ding! Ding!....Great summary, honestly.

Now that all the keynotes are done, we can sit back and watch some awesome acts of cognitive dissonance as people try to explain how MS or Nintendo had the best performance.

In the meantime, all the Xbox kids don't really need to try to lie to themselves that MS' keynote held its own against Sony's. They ought to be playing those demos for Ace Combat 6 and Blue Dragon. The demo area is one place where Sony is *sorely* lacking.

did anyone else notice how 'polite' the Sony suits were? They must have really taken all of those 'arrogance' criticisms to heart.

Last year:
Listen up bitches, next gen doesn't start until we say it does. Now suck on this.

This year:
Thank you all. We really appreciate your support. Did I mention we really appreciate your support? We owe everything to you. We will work hard to earn your support. Puppies! Puppies for all!

It'd be nice if people could just admit that every conference was lacking and not nitpick over which one "won" by fractions of imaginary points. But that won't happen. But it was Sony, by the way.

Some weird looking puzzler thats going to make Ico fans crap their pants. I didnt' see the big deal.

It is a black and white game, in which you walk around the odd geometry of M. C. Escher.

The best thing is, that I've just told you what it was, but you can't process it. You have to see it for yourself. Now, the graphics can probably run on a Wii, or just one GameCube (without the duct tape), but the idea is where it's at. I want to see the code for it. If there is one thing I do not understand is the gameplay mechanic in analysis of the illusions, which basically comprise 100% of the gameplay. I have a degree in math, and I don't understand how it is done. It fucking ROTATES.
Is LBP due out this year, or have they not said for sure yet?
Demo/beeta in the fall with a possible retail release next year.

Why would Ico fans care about Echo Chrome? I don't see the connection.
