E3 Thread
So is Naughty Dog done with Jak and Daxter? Is SuckerPuch done with Sly Cooper? Those were the games that sold me on my PS2. Atleast Ratchet & Clank are still on track.
I can't imagine we'll see those until E3 '08 maybe?
You seemed to imply gameplay:

The point is that the comparison to Ico doesn't make sense.

I'll simplify it for you: this is the Crush of the PSN. The quirky puzzler that the hardcore could appreciate, but will ultimately just be ignored by the masses.
Sorry, my ignorance for the game caused confusion.

Jak and Sly are huge franchises...doubt they are ditching them. New IP is good :)

Konami sent out this for the press:

Quote:
This is certainly one of the strangest E3 appointment reminders we've received. Konami's media briefing begins at 5:45PM PST, and Konami has sent a cryptic poem, hinting at a major, unexpected announcement:

What better way
to end your day
at Konami's media briefing collecting ...
News for a major announcement
you were not expecting.

I bet you I -was- expecting, and was confused that we haven't heard it yet. I'm probably wrong, and yes, it probably is what you think.

Finally, the Konami Man platformer we've all been waiting for.

or Konami vs. Capcom 2

I think you forgot that Insomiac made Resistance first.

^.^ there is still time.

The new PSP is a sleeker and more streamlined version of the popular original PSP system. It is 33 percent lighter and 19 percent slimmer than the current version, making the all-in-one mobile entertainment system even more convenient to carry around at less than 1/2-pound in weight and less than 3/4-inch in thickness. The new PSP system will also have a thinner, more efficient battery, 64MB of system memory and video-out capabilities allowing consumers to enjoy their games at 480 x 272 resolution and movies at full standard-definition resolution on any progressive scan TV.

Interesting.

It's okay. There's better things to argue about than a puzzle game on the PSN. ;)

Play EchoChrome now?

PSP Slim video. (not from E3!)

Things of note:

-Face buttons are visibly raised and easier to hit.
-Memory Card slot has changed somewhat.
-Wifi switch is now on top, presumably the wifi unit is behind the screen now. Helpful since the old unit would heat up your hands after heavy use!
-Battery is now 1200maH, a 1000 less than the older unit. Sony are promising better battery life?
-PSP can now accept power charge directly through the USB port.
-Battery cover features a new mechanism to open it.
-Infrared port removed.
-Hold switch is on the left side, seperated from the power switch
ZOE3

Or as someone amusingly said "THE SPANISH INQUISITION!"
I've said before that a new Shadow of the Colossus/Ico universe game or the next Kingdom Hearts would make me buy a PS3. I'll now add ZoE 3 to that list.

Hrrm, seems odd that you need progressive scan to play games via the video out on the new PSPs, since it seems like the res would be doable (maybe a little flickery) on standard-def TVs. :/

That said, it SEEMS promising although I'm not completely thrilled by the redesign.

So the silver PSP-P is only available in the entertainment pack, or can it be had separately for $169.99? Ditto for the black.

Nope, just in the bundles.

From the Sony PR:

The first newly designed PSP that will be released in North America is the limited-edition Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack, which will be available on September 10 and provide users with everything they need to enjoy the ultimate in portable entertainment, right out of the box. This package will feature a PSP in “Ice Silver” along with the award-winning, action-packed game, Daxter; the hit TV comedy from 20th Century Fox, “Family Guy - The Freakin’ Sweet Collection” on UMD; and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo™, for storing photos, music, video clips and more.

The limited-release Star Wars Battlefront PSP Entertainment Pack, available on October 9, will allow owners to experience their favorite Star Wars battles any way – and anywhere – they want with a special “Ceramic White” PSP featuring a silk-screened image of Darth Vader on the back of the unit. Also included is Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, the next chapter of the best-selling Star Wars Battlefront series from LucasArts. Set during the Original Trilogy era, the game is the previously untold story of a ragtag ensemble of battle-hardened rogues and scoundrels assembled by Han Solo. Now for the first time ever in Star Wars Battlefront, you can customize your character, select your weapons, choose your abilities and create a different experience every time you play.A stand-alone version of Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron will also be available on October 9.
I'm guessing a big no here, but if i use my Gamestop warranty can I nab one of these PSP slims instead?
BIG NO! (hehe, prob not)
Nope, just in the bundles.

From the Sony PR:
So technically it is a price increase. Oops, I mean, "value add." Guess I'll wait till they strip out the extras again.

I just want the PSP only.........I'll just get the Bundle and ebay the rest quickly before everyone does the same, lol.I think I may not get it and stick with my (old) PSP w/ homebrew.......decisions.....and I still need to get a PS3!
So technically it is a price increase. Oops, I mean, "value add." Guess I'll wait till they strip out the extras again.
Not really. Piano Black's getting the core pack release at $169.99.

As expected, all the stupid doomsayers and idiotic anti-Sony Fanboys have been shot down once again. As I've stated before it was nothing more than the initial launch fanaticism fueled by idiotic consumers that led to extremely bad press... (well I guess as some dumb Sony exec quotes contributed). Same thing happened at 360 launch and the first year... but after the ps3 launch suddenly the whole wii360 movement came about proclaiming the downfall for the ps3? It was the dumbest shit i'd ever seen with fanboys and stupid console loyalties. Now I see the same people coming around saying "oh look ps3 aint so bad anymore! wooo!" go fuck yourselves tards.
