Todays First Flash Deal (of 3) is Dead Space 2 with 3000 likes. Need to hit it by 11:30AM. No word on discount %, free shipping inclusion, or platforms. Likely to follow Mass Effect 2 which was 50% off +Free Shipping on all available platforms.

**I will probably be too busy at work to update this so just look for the one offs today.**

FAQ (in progress):

Q: What is EA Flash Deals?
A: Special discounts on video games sold through EA's online store typically ranging from 50%-60%. Often they include free shipping but do include tax (at least in my area). These deals are offered exclusively through the EA Flash Deals Facebook page.

Q: How can I help make the deal go live faster?
A: "Like" the required post on their Facebook page and tell your friends about it. Typically they require 500-1,000 likes. The Mass Effect deal required 1,500 and is the highest to date.

Q: What if I don't have/use Facebook?
A: You can still look at the page and see the "likes" and even see the deal when it goes live. It is recommended that you get a Facebook page so you can help get the "likes" up faster to ensure that the deals go live.

As an alternative you can follow EA Flash Deals on twitter (@EAFlashDeals) and they will post the deals when they go live as well. You can have their tweets sent to your phone so you will be immediately notified when a deal goes live.

Q: Where do I go to buy these games?
A: EA's online store.

Q: When do the deals go live?
A: Almost immediately upon reaching the number of "likes" required a deal will go live.

Q: How long is the deal good for?
A: Early posts by EA state the deals are good for 50-1,000 units. Although that number has probably been increased but there is no confirmation. Since there are many people clamoring for these deals they often are completely claimed within 20 minutes. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that if you want a deal you stalk their page until it goes live.

Q: Do these deals stack with coupons?
A: The deals stack with coupons. I have personally used a $20 coupon on NBA Jam and as a result it was completely free shipped during a past deal. Other coupons may work. It's always worth a try but YMMV.

Q: Do the unlock codes post faster on Facebook or Twitter?
A: In my experience Facebook does get the codes faster but it's only a minute or two.

Q: I didn't get a confirmation email. Does that mean my order didn't go through?
A: There is sometimes a huge delay in receiving confirmation emails. As long as you saw it on your computer screen go through you should be fine. Order tracking on the store site also has had reported issues as well. It is recommended that you check your credit card/bank account to confirm your order was placed.

Q: Are these discounts taken off the current price or standard MSRP?
A: While the store has lower than MSRP prices listed normally for some games, these deals are taken off of MSRP.

Q: How much is shipping?
A: The deals come with a free shipping option but there can be 3-4 days processing time before your order goes through in addition to ship time. You can select faster methods for premium shipping prices.

Q: Does the discount work for preorders?
A: So far there has been no preorder discount but that doesn't mean it can't happen in the future.

Q: Do these discounts work internationally?
A: It appears these discounts are only usable in the US EA online store.

Tips for getting deals:

1) Have the desired game in your cart ready to go.
2) Stalk the EA Flash Deals Facebook page until the deal goes live.
3) Follow @EAFlashDeals on Twitter for updates when codes go live.
3) Don't wait for the OP to update with the discount code. If it's not updated right away you may miss your opportunity to get the desired game.

On a personal note it truly thrills me to be able to have a chance to give back to a community that has helped me save a ton of money. I only hope I can do justice to this site and follow in the footsteps of some of the other thread managers like reddjoey in particular and keep this thing as up to date and as useful as possible.
If the OP and / or mods can always change the topic title once an upcoming deal is announced, then I guess this is alright. Otherwise I'm not the biggest fan of a general thread for these.
I'm not a fan of the general threads either. What if a flash deal comes up and the OP isn't around to update the thread title, I will likely not click on it. I can see the use for a general thread to discuss how the flash deals work or to gripe or cheer about a deal.

For breaking the latest deal though I see a new thread as being the best way, maybe link to the general thread so people can go there to get answers.
I'm going to get flamed to all hell for this. But I hated ME1. Couldn't even force myself to play through it very far to find out what the hype was all about.
No, I'm the same. I've tried 2, maybe 3 times now to play through ME1 and always get bored with it before too long, even though I like it in theory and was really, really excited when it came out. I think I just don't have the patience with games that I used to have.

My one recommendation for others who have that issue is to crank down the difficulty to easy, so you can at least play through the story a bit more quickly.

Got my copy of NHL 11 today too.

Also have yet to recieve a confirmation on ME2 but I know EA's order info can be a pain sometimes.
So the consensus is to not bother then? I have no problem updating this thing as deals go live but if people prefer one-off threads then so be it. Personally I'm good either way.
Maybe just update the thread title with the next upcoming Flash deal and the date, with more info and links in the first post. That was things stay in one place but you can tell at a glance what the latest is.

Just got shipping email from EA for ME2 PS3. Fyi, I ordered within couple mins of the deal went live. You guys should be getting your shipping email soon.
I ordered ME2 for 360 seconds after the flash deal went live. My account was charged right away but my "order history" area of the website continues to show no orders and I've yet to receive shipping confirmation.

I used the live customer service chat on EA's site to ask about this. The agent first told me that there was an issue with my bank account and to take it up with them. I told him it's paypal and that it's already been charged and the funds have been removed from my account and pasted him the paypal stuff from my paypal overview. I asked him what the real problem was. He disappeared for a while and came back and said to just wait a few days for it to ship and still had no real answers.

I was about to get mad and he offered me a $20 coupon to the EA store. I said thanks and that was it.

I still have no idea if and when my ME2 is coming, but at least I scored $20 for the next flash deal!
Shoving $20 into people's month certainly can quiet things down. Too bad they haven't been shoving them in my mouth lately. Maybe I need to start making some noise. ;)

They got this weird order process. Last time i ordered, i got no confirmation and the game took damn near 5 days to ship. Also, my account wasn't charged until 2 days after i received it.

The EAstore's customer service is horriable but I always end up getting the item although it may take a little longer than most places. Can't beat it for the price.

Did end up complaining yesterday about the ME2 taking so long to ship and the guy said it was otu of stock and woudln't ship for 5-7 more days. I said that wasn't right that my account was charged and I wouldn't get my game for 3 weeks at the earliest. He gives me a $#20 coupon to shut me up and then I get a e-mail an hour later saying my game shipped.

Just goes to show you the first line of customer service really doesn't know anything.

Their tech support is equally as bad or worse. I've had a couple issues with corrupted save files and they have me delete the files to see if it fixes it. How dumb do they think people are? Just listen to what you are asking me to do. How the hell is deleting the information off my hard drive supposed to make it functional again??fuckng fail.

wait, the deal isn't necessarily today.

"Who wants to unlock a deal on Dead Space 2 this week? For those who already have the game, tell us what you think"

Who cares, as long as Flash deals and $20 complaint coupon codes keep coming. That's what CAGs really want isn't it? Too bad I haven't had much luck with complaining to them to get $20 coupons lately. They just keep saying they are sorry for the trouble with no codes at the end. :(
I've had this issue before. Just live chat with EA support. They can get everything straight for you.
Well, I talked to live chat. They said it was because of non-payment and he told me to check my bank. Why should there be an issue? CC details weren't declined, there's no record of order in my account, my bank has no knowledge of a transaction request. How am I supposed to pay? Honestly, the EA Store is such garbage. This same thing happened to me the first time when I got Dead Space and paid with Paypal. I figured I'd try CC but no, same shit. At least I got a $20 coupon.
