EA Sports Active 2 $19.99 Target B&M

Yeah I picked up a PS3 version the other day and tried it today and it seems to work really well and be very responsive (I actually thought it was going to be a Move game, so was a bit surprised it came with its own sensors)

Picked one up on Tuesday; 1 copy left for 360, and 2 PS3 copies left, all Target exclusives with additional resistance bands. Going to break it out today after work and give it a whirl.

EA would be cutting themselves short (sales wise) by requireing the Move for EA Sports Active 2. The only reason I think the 360 version requires the Kinect so EA could capitalize on the newness and hype on the Kintect. Otherwise I think the 360 version would have been functionally identical to the PS3 version...
Since you have the Kinect already you might want to make the investment in the 360 version but as another above posted said, I've read many reviews that say the 360 version is not very accurate in tracking what you're doing.
I have PS3 also, and went with the 360 because of the kinect, so far tracking has been pretty good. I made sure I did the kinect tuner first to get it as accurate as possible.

Do the 2 additional bands (target exclusive) have different resistances? Or do you just get 3 identical bands. I saw target sold a box of 3 bands separately (I think 10lb, 20lb, 25lb resistances).

If there are multiple copies of the version you want, make sure that the box is marked that it comes with the bonus bands before you buy. I saw that the PS3 version had some boxes that were not marked that they came with the bonus.

My girl uses this all the time... the 360 version use to have crap ass tracking but they sent out an update not to long ago and now it works better than the other 2 version.

I can confirm the 360 EA Active 2 does ask for a update and this program with Kinect is incredible. I did complete a new kinect setup before I started EA's workout for best performace. Kinect didn't lose me even once during a twenty minute workout. Buyer's be warned, this program will kick your butt if you're not a workout person. This is a very detailed setup EA has created and I like it.

looking for a copy for 360 but none around in any of my targets... is there a link to check for available stock?

I did my first workout yesterday, set to 'Medium' intensity. Holy crap I hurt right now...

The main problem with the kinect version was the fact that the kinect would not properly track floor exercises such as situps. Instead of fixing the issue, EA simply disabled tracking for all the floor exercises. The PS3 IMO is the better version and it also features exercises that are not available on the xbox. If i'm not mistaken, I believe the xbox version has the least amount of exercises when compared to the wii and ps3 versions.

I got the ps3 version during the TRU sale. Decent, but still has flaws. I finished the 9 week program, each session is supposedly ~30 minutes and progressively increases in length and intensity. But including all the "filler" time, it usually takes about 1 hour to do each workout. I did medium, and the exercises left me sweating and sometimes sore afterward, but they were never frustrating enough to make me not complete them, like say forcing me to do 100 situps or something. I never tried the 3 week cardio course yet, but that is all it has 3 week or 9 week. I would prefer if it offered some shorter preset workouts, because I don't want to start the 9 week, 4 days per week program again. It is really a committment if you follow through, which is good and bad. The tracking can be really frustrating sometimes, but I guess this is the closest thing to having a trainer watching you.

And make sure you have spare AAA batteries or rechargeables. The ones they give you won't last for the full 9 weeks.

edit: Actually I just saw that it is supposed to let you design your own custom workouts. I thought it was supposed to have that, but swear I couldn't find it when I looked the other day. I will have to try that out. Would still have preferred a few shorter preset programs thrown in though.

Picked up a second copy today for two person workouts (and the stupid platinum trophy) and turned around and flipped the game itself for $8 at Best Buy. All in all cheaper than buying a second set of sensors from EA's website. Target in Bowling Green, KY had multiple copies of the PS3 version. I didn't bother to check if they had other versions in stock.

There are plenty of these in stock at the Targets I have been to, and may of them aren't properly marked they are $20.

Remember the price is due to go back up to $40 on 5/29...
all my Targets say OOS but imma swing by anyways cuz I gotta pick something up
All of my Targets said OOS as well, but I had to go there anyway on Friday so I went and looked for this. I was really surprised to find multiple copies for every system. I didn't have any problem picking up a PS3 version. Hopefully you have some good luck too!
Went to my target and noticed there were still marked as $39.99. Scanned one and it was indeed $19.99. Thanks OP.
I saw that too, stores would have one version marked down but not another, but be aware that every version is $19.99 until this Saturday

Which version is the best if you have both X360/Kinect and PS3? I heard the Kinect version could lose tracking easily but having not to wear the sensors seems appealing.

If you have alot of space set up for your Kinect you should be fine with the 360 version, otherwise it will have problems tracking you if you get too close to the TV.

The PS3 version is probably the best version if you are short on space because it doesn't use cameras to track you.
