Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset (X360,PC) $43 (Regularly $59.99) @Amazon

Grabbed the dx11s for $70 a couple weeks ago. Wonder what the main difference is in the actual headphones.

Don't forget the @gamer has a $20 off tritton this issue also, which usually means one of those will go on sale also.

The X12's have bigger speakers. And I don't think the X11's have microphone monitoring. May be someone else can tell you more. These are my decent headsets.

I've been thinking about getting one of these headsets, but I've never used them before. Do the have a mess of cables. Is it a pain to hook up / unhook when not in use?

They do have a mes of cables. And they probably would a a pain. But that's just from what I've seen in youtube videos.

I have the X11s plus the 7.1 Earforce DSS box, and the cables can get quite messy and annoying. I bought both items on sale so it cost me just under 100 bucks total, but if I was to do it over I'd have just paid a little extra for the X41s.

Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset and Amplified Stereo Sound for $43 and qualifies for Free Shipping

Got the X41's and couldn't get them to quit hissing and popping. Tried everything CS suggested two or more times and nothing worked. Returned them for the X11's and I'm happy with those. Got the DSS for the X11's as soon as it came out because that was the reason (surround sound) for getting the X41's that didn't work out. Some of my friends have the X41's and like them.

Comparing the X12's to the X11's. The X12's have bigger speakers 50mm vs 40mm, adjustable bass, larger ear cups and the colors are black and lime. The X11's do have mic monitoring also.

I had the same problem with the x41's. If you were anywhere close to your wireless router, you were FUBAR. I hate all the cables with the x11/DSS, but at least it works and sounds nice

Wireless router was 45 to 55 feet away. Wired always works better for headsets. Most of the pro and more expensive ones are wired.

I've had all manner of popping with my X41s. It is very wifi related and it could be your neighbors if you live in an apartment.

The talkback cables (which connect your controller and headset for Xbox live chat) are constantly failing, no matter which ones you buy, plan to replace those every few months. Unfortunately you must buy ones with an inline volume control.

So I got the X12s. They are pretty nice. Shortcomings compared to X41s- sound isn't as crisp and surround separation isn't as good. I like the inline volume built into the cable, where you also plug in the talkback cable. I'm returning them. They have the same chat problem I had with my x41s which means the problem is IT not Turtle Beach.
